TFT 12.14 Meta Comps: Best Set 7 Compositions

Teamfight Tactics Patch 12.14 brought major balance changes affecting dragons as well as improved ability power items and champions. Patch 12.14 included several significant balance changes that had an impact on the TFT Set 7 meta. Auto attack AD scaling per star level was reworked again, dropping from 80 down to 50.

The TFT team also brought significant AP buffs to the Morellonomicon and Mirage sub-traits, as well as buffs to legendary dragons like Aurelion Sol and Shyvana. Each of these balance and system changes improved the playability of AP comps and dragons. The changes also pushed up comps like Dragonslayer, while seemingly making AD champions like Corki, Varus, and Xayah playable. Let's take a look together at the current meta comps that have emerged after all these changes.

Best TFT 12.14 Set 7 Comps

Dragons

Set 7 is living up to its name after several buffs improved Aurelion Sol and Shyvana as carries in patch 12.14. Even though some players choose to run Aurelion Sol instead of the Storm King, Ao Shin has shown us he's still a solid late-game dragon despite being slightly weakened. Since TFT Patch 12.4, especially after Shyvana's damage was reworked, getting a Dragon Augment specific to the dragon trait feels good.

Shyvana, Shi Oh Yu, and Sy'fen are solid carries in a Dragon comp. And Aurelion Sol or Ao Shin perform well as secondary carries. Shyvana wants the classic combination of AP items or a third item like Infinity Edge, Jeweled Gauntlet, and Hand of Justice.

Hextech Gunblade is great for healing, and Morellonomicon helps pump out extra damage while shutting down the enemy team's healing. Items for Shi Oh Yu and Sy'fen stay the same — you'll want to prioritize Bloodthirster and Titan's Resolve. And AP items can go to Aurelion Sol or Ao Shin.

Dragonslayer

Dragonslayer comps, which play against Dragon comps like Jade and Mirage and their dragon primary carries, have risen to top-tier status. The composition has always lacked a strong primary carry since Diana was nerfed, and she can still deal some damage. Following the change to AD scaling per star level, reroll comps lost priority during patch 12.14. Still, rerolling is a good option when playing Dragonslayer.

The champions to focus on are Diana, Olaf, and even Shen. Players pushing further into the late game will want four Brawlers to support Olaf and at least one more assassin to support Diana. Sylas and Pyke are both great for either, and also provide magic resist and armor shred.

The two main items for Olaf are Runaan's Hurricane and Quicksilver. Bloodthirster is a solid item alongside Guinsoo or Statikk Shiv. And Diana still wants items like Frozen Heart and Ionic Spark.

Jade

Patch 12.14 significantly buffed AP carries in the early and mid game. In the Jade comp, both Anivia and Karma are solid item holders. And Anivia can work even as a three-star carry if she keeps showing up in the shop. Six Jade has been a strong TFT Set 7 comp since Dragonlands launched. It lost some value during Patch 12.13, but came back strong in Patch 12.14 thanks to AP buffs and another 10% attack speed for six Jade.

Players rerolling for Anivia will want to give her Morellonomicon and Archangel's Staff. The third item can be Spear of Shojin, Hextech Gunblade, or Rabadon's Deathcap. And Shi Oh Yu still wants Bloodthirster and Edge of Night.

The last late-game champions to add to a TFT Set 7 Jade comp are Bard for Mystic alongside Lulu, and Yasuo equipped with a possible Blue Buff.

Mirage

Mirage comps have been a comp you can build toward, even if they've never quite reached top-tier status. Patch 12.14 finally woke up Mirage's dormant power level, pushing it up to A-tier. Morellonomicon becomes powerful on Daeja, providing the ability power she badly needs alongside reduced healing from the enemy team.

Both the Executioner and Spellsword sub-traits were buffed in Patch 12.14. Spellsword was already a solid Daeja primary-carry sub-trait, and it's now even better. Beyond that, a three-star Yone can pull his weight either with the Executioner sub-trait or with the Duelist's skill.
