VALORANT Brimstone Guide: Abilities and How to Play (March 2022)

In our VALORANT agent guide series, today's guest is the agent Brimstone. Brimstone joins us from America. He is a Controller. So what is a Controller agent? Controllers are agents with abilities that can restrict vision, what we call smokes in the game. Brimstone finds his place in this class. What Are VALORANT Brimstone's Abilities?

Brimstone's three abilities let you separate your opponents into vulnerable positions and eliminate them more easily, which is especially useful when taking a site; the Stim Beacon can help you and your teammates gain the upper hand in duels. Here is each of his abilities in detail:

C Ability — Stim Beacon (100 credits each):

It throws a disc that can be thrown to the ground. This disc gives you and your teammates a 15% power boost for 12 seconds. After the latest update, it also speeds up your walking. This ability has 2 charges.

Q Ability — Incendiary (250 credits):

This ability, which has an effect like Killjoy’s grenades, can unfortunately only be thrown after the round starts. Most players know this ability as Brimstone's lineup ability. It has one charge.

E Ability — Sky Smoke (100 credits each):

This ability is the one that makes Brimstone Brimstone. It drops smokes from the air onto the places we mark on the map on our arm. With the latest update, the landing speed of these smokes has reached what can be called almost instant. The moment you press, these smokes will land. This ability has 3 charges, and since it is our signature ability, 1 charge is gifted at the start of every round. Note that these 3 charges are single use. There will be no regeneration.

X (Ultimate) Ability — Orbital Strike (7 points):

Brimstone's ultimate is an ability we can call an airstrike from space. Our agent can send a strike from space to the area we mark on the map on our arm, and this ability is mostly used after planting the bomb. You can access this ability when you reach 7 points. The 7 points are determined by the number of people you kill, how many times you die and the number of orbs you collect.

Brimstone is built for clearing space and gaining intel. Your Incendiary is perfect for closing off entry points or clearing corners, and it lets you take bomb plant areas a bit more easily.

But when it comes to his ultimate, Brimstone has one of the best in VALORANT. Even if you do not get a kill with it, it is perfect for clearing enemies out of their vantage points or punishing opponents foolish enough to camp in a corner or a small hut.

How Should You Play the VALORANT Agent Brimstone?

Brimstone is not exactly useful on defense, but he can be very useful on attack, where he really shines. Brimstone is built to take and hold sites, but try not to use him as an entry piece; leave that to a Duelist like Jett or Phoenix. If your teammate goes down, it is your job to follow up and trade the kills.

Use your smokes to cordon off areas where enemies could hide and to restrict their field of view. They will either have to wait 19 seconds while the smoke dissipates or move to a less advantageous angle. Either way, it will work quite well for you.

When enemies try to retake the site, a nice trick comes into play on attack. If you hear an opponent tap that defuse button, that should be your cue. Firing an Incendiary onto the Spike forces the enemies away, buying you valuable time for the Spike to detonate.

On defense, use your Stim Beacon to give yourself a buff when going for early trades. You can also use your Incendiary to delay quick pushes and give your team more time to rotate.
