Reyna, the agent we met with the game's official launch, is steadily on her way to becoming players' favorite agent. Although she is a little different from her initial release, it is immediately clear that she is still a viable pick. So we decided to prepare a guide for this valuable agent. Here is our 2022 VALORANT Reyna agent guide!
What Are the Abilities of VALORANT Agent Reyna?
Reyna's kit in VALORANT is designed to help you in gunfights, and each ability complements the others perfectly so that you make sure you are the one in charge of wiping out the enemy team. All four of Reyna's abilities are explained in detail below:
C Ability – Leer (250 Creds) — An ability that can blind enemy teams when they look at this eye. It can be destroyed by opponents. It has 2 charges. Q Ability – Devour (200 Creds, shared with Dismiss) — If you press Q toward a nearby Soul Orb, you will quickly regenerate your health. If Empress is active, this ability will automatically activate after you get a kill. E Ability – Dismiss (200 Creds, shared with Devour) — Like Devour, an ability you can press when you see a Soul Orb, and after pressing it you can be in a state where you take no damage. While Empress is active, the E ability also makes you invisible for a set time. X (Ultimate) Ability - Empress (6 points) - You IMMEDIATELY enter a frenzy. Firing, equipping and reloading speeds are significantly increased. Getting a kill refreshes the duration.
After a kill, Reyna's ability choices really shine. Soul Orbs drop directly on enemy corpses (including corpses Reyna has damaged in the last 3 seconds), giving the agent two unique options. She can regenerate health up to 100 HP, or even to 150 with Overheal, or become invulnerable for a very short time to reposition, and combined with the Ultimate it makes her invisible. Where Reyna's playstyle matters most is the moments after a kill. Do you go for Overheal and keep boosting your speed, or do you take a Soul Orb from your enemy's corpse and fall back while invulnerable? Every situation is different, but with experience you will learn which option is best.
How Do You Play Reyna?
When playing Reyna, a large part of your kit won't come alive unless you get frags, so playing overly passive on offense won't benefit you or the team. To reach your full potential with the agent, try to position yourself at the front of any big push, or dive in for a flank when possible.
If you are leading the attack, you can play behind allied smokes and flashes, or even throw your own blinding eye, which will give "Nearsighted" to all enemies looking directly at it. After your first pick, try to assess the area. If there are more enemies nearby, become invulnerable and return to your team's safety. If you are coming from the side and want to keep the pressure on, overheal and repeat the process. That said, one thing to be very careful about when playing Reyna is how quickly Leer can be dealt with by the opponent. Similar to Sova's Recon Bolt, enemies can hit the floating orb almost instantly. Don't make the mistake of using the ability and then running out into the open after it has been destroyed.
Reyna's ultimate significantly boosts her damage output and executes her skills faster than normal, which means you can chain your picks together with greater effect. Ultimately, you want to flow; using abilities one after another and trying to combine your kit into one clean sequence of events will overwhelm enemy teams and make you very hard to take down.
