Samsung Odyssey G7

Samsung's Odyssey G7 hits the sweet spot between size, specs, price, and flexibility that makes it the best all-around curved monitor for PC gaming. The monitor's 2560x1440 (16:9) screen is 32 inches wide, which isn't much bigger than other PC gaming monitors, but what sets it apart is its 1000R curve. Samsung claims this matches the curvature of the human eye and results in a more comfortable viewing experience. There's also a slightly cheaper 27-inch model with sharper pixel density, but the 32-inch model is more immersive.

Asus TUF Gaming VG35VQ

ASUS has a few monitors in its TUF Gaming lineup, but the VG35VQ is a model anyone with an Nvidia card can get thanks to its G-Sync compatibility. It also supports FreeSync, so you can take advantage of the monitor's VRR up to 100Hz (and 1ms response time) regardless of whether your setup uses an Nvidia or AMD GPU. That said, G-Sync support is less common, and there are few G-Sync-compatible curved monitors with these features at this price. The VG35VQ has a 35-inch screen with an ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio, a 3,440x1,440 resolution, and HDR10 support. Its 1800R curve is gentler than some other monitors and delivers a colorful, sharp image that fills your peripheral vision while gaming.

MSI Optix MAG342CQRV

For AMD GPU users, MSI's Optix MAG242CQR is an excellent monitor at this price point. With a 1500R curve, the 34-inch-wide screen can display games at a 3440x1440 resolution. The refresh rate also peaks at 144Hz, and Adaptive-Sync mode works with any FreeSync-compatible device. MSI keeps the Optix MAG342CQR's price relatively low by using a VA panel. VA panels offer great contrast, black levels, and response time, and the image looks great in both dark and bright rooms. The only downside is limited viewing angles compared to IPS panels, but that's only an issue if you're sitting far away or sharing the monitor with multiple players. Still, for fast-paced single-player games, this is an excellent choice.

LG UltraGear 34GP83A

Here's another 34-inch 21:9 ultra-wide screen, but unlike most of our other picks, LG's UltraGear 34GP83A uses a nano IPS panel. IPS panels are essentially the opposite of VA panels and offer much better viewing angles in exchange for relatively lower contrast ratios (though color accuracy is nearly identical between the two panel types). If you plan on playing local co-op games, everyone can see what's happening on screen clearly, as long as there isn't too much glare from windows or lights. The UltraGear 34GP83A can hit refresh rates up to 144Hz and has a 1ms response time. The monitor also supports VESA's Adaptive-Sync, the technology AMD's FreeSync is built on, as well as Nvidia's proprietary G-Sync. As long as you have a GPU or game console that supports one of these technologies, you can take advantage of the monitor's VRR setting to eliminate screen tearing and keep your gameplay smooth.

You know how in mecha anime, pilots are often surrounded by a massive, seamless screen in the cockpit? Using Samsung's giant Odyssey Neo G9 is a lot like that. The 48.9-inch monitor pushes the aspect ratio to 32:9 with a 5,120x1,440 resolution and a 1000R curve. Samsung used a bright QLED panel for the Odyssey Neo G9, and with native HDR10 and HDR10+ support, colors pop on this huge screen. The monitor also reaches refresh rates up to 240Hz and supports G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro. Keep in mind that the Odyssey Neo G9's physical footprint is about as big as its price tag. But if you have the desk space and the budget to spare, a monitor like this will give you one of the most immersive visual experiences outside of a VR headset.
