Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 5: Weapons, Maps, Zombies

A new season has arrived for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. With very little time left before Season 4 ends and Season 5 begins, the game's developers have revealed the details of Season 5. Among the additions the developer has announced for the popular FPS title are new weapons, new maps, new game modes and zombies updates. At the same time, the questions many players have been asking — when does Season 5 start and when does Season 4 end — have also been answered.

CoD: Black Ops Cold War Season 4 will end on Wednesday, August 11, when the Battle Pass expires.

Just one day after Season 4 ends, CoD: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 will begin on Thursday, August 12.

New Weapons

Here are the new weapons players can expect to use in Season 5:

• EM2 (Assault Rifle)
• TEC-9 (SMG)
• Cane (Melee)
• Marshal – In season (Shotgun)
• Flamethrower (Scorestreak)

New Maps

Season 5 takes player feedback into account with new maps designed to suit every side of the game. The maps being added are:

• Echelon (6v6)
• Slums (6v6)
• Showroom (2v2 / 3v3)
• Drive-In – In season (6v6)
• Zoo – In season (6v6)
• Collateral (Outbreak)

New Game Modes

Demolition and Double Agent will be the new game modes added in Season 5. Demolition mode arrives as a variant of the Search & Destroy mode CoD players are already familiar with. Double Agent mode, meanwhile, is a fun mode where players need to expose the agent hidden within the game. Each match will consist of 2 teams of 10 players. The roles in Double Agent mode are: agents who need to carry out sabotage, investigators who look for clues to expose the agents, and other agents who need to work together with the investigators.

New Operators

Kitsune will be added as the first Operator of CoD Season 5. Stryker and Hudson will then also arrive as Operators mid-season.

Zombies

The most notable zombies feature in Season 5 is a new mechanic called Death Perception. It's an ability that unlocks across tiers during a match, with a new feature unlocking at each tier. The tiers of Death Perception are:

• Tier 1: Increases mini-map update speed.
• Tier 2: Enemies give danger indicators when they're behind the player.
• Tier 3: You gain 20% more looted salvage.
• Tier 4: Increases armor-piercing damage by 10%.
• Tier 5: Nearby chests, resources and item drops are marked as keys through walls.

Alongside this feature, there's a new field upgrade called Tesla Storm. However, it's not yet known exactly what this feature does. There's also a new Outbreak objective and a new outbreak zone called Collateral. On top of that, with the new update players will be able to ride in a tank and enjoy using a new pincer-type weapon.
