League of Legends Ranked Borders Are Getting an Update

Want to show off your ranked status? Well, Riot is about to improve the visuals of ranked borders and everything else around them! There will be many new ways to show how good or bad you are at League of Legends.

In a recent Twitter thread, Competitive Enterprise Design Lead Jordan Checkman revealed the changes coming to the League of Legends client to better showcase a player's hard work.

What's Being Added to LoL Ranked Borders?

According to the Twitter thread, there will be several additions to the ranked border. One of the most welcomed changes is having a player's ranked division included on the border. But that's not all that's coming.

Riot also plans to add flying banners, as well as a ranked division display in a player's loading screen, lobby, and profile. So if you're stuck in Silver III, everyone will know. You won't be able to hide from your Diamond II friends anymore.

That's not all, because soon we'll also get a competitive menu. Riot is working hard to make profile customization much more prestigious. So if you're stuck in Gold but your friend swears you're Bronze, Riot will make sure they look different enough to avoid any confusion.

Of course, if you're not a bush like most of us, Riot will make ranked borders much more exciting too. So make sure you keep climbing, so you can earn great rewards on your loading screen and show off to your opponents.

When Will These Changes Happen?

No set date has been announced for the updates yet. It could arrive with LoL Patch 12.02 or at a later date. We'll have to see how the PBE turns out and whether these changes are currently being tested on the client.

Until then, you'll have to make do with your current ranked border on your profile. As mentioned earlier, challenges are also coming to the client soon, so even if you're not ranked, you'll be able to climb the ranks and show off your unique League of Legends brand soon.
