Online Soccer Manager, or OSM, is a game many of us love, and simply making transfers and sending players to training doesn't make you a good manager. There's a lot of technical, tactical detail involved. In particular, being able to develop a counter to your opponents — in other words, building counter tactics — is one of the game's key tricks. In this series of articles, we'll try to find the counter for every tactic, one by one. We're starting the series today. Many OSM players try to run their team with 4-3-3A, a reflection of total football. So how do you beat Cruyff's legendary attacking 4-3-3 tactic? What's the best 4-3-3A counter tactic? What Should the 4-3-3A Counter Tactic Formation Be in 2022?

In previous years, the best-performing counter to 4-3-3A was to play 4-3-3A yourself. However, as you can see from recent updates, 4-4-2B has become the best tactic. If you remember, we recommended the same tactic against 4-3-3B too, and there won't be a huge change here either. You can set up your system by playing defensively strong players in the center of your midfield and attackers out on the wings. Of course, if your opponent is attacking through the wings, doing the opposite — putting defensively strong players out wide — will give you a better chance of stopping them.

What Should the 4-3-3A Counter Tactic Playing Style and Instructions Be in 2022?

Playing style: Aggressive, Shoot on sight

Attackers: Attack only Midfield: Help defense Defenders: Stay back

Here, the only difference from 4-3-3A is that our midfielders need to help out on defense. Since the opposing team steps up their attack, we also need to step up our defensive dosage, and compared to our 4-3-3B counter tactic, we sit a little deeper here.
