How Do You Screen Record on Your iPhone?
Setting Up Screen Recording
Although screen recording is easy, you need to make the setting available in Control Center.
- To enable screen recording, go to Settings > Control Center.
- To find Screen Recording, go to the More Controls section and tap the green Plus icon (+) next to it.
- A Screen Recording icon should appear in Control Center, which you can access by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, or by swiping down from the upper-right edge if you are on an iPhone X series or later, that is, models without a Home button such as the iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
Recording Your Screen
Apple has made screen recording simple.
- Open Control Center and tap the Screen Recording icon.
- Once you tap, you will have three seconds to close Control Center before your phone starts recording. A red bar will appear at the top of your screen to let you know you are recording.
- If you want to add sound to your screen recording, tap the Screen Recording icon with extra pressure (3D Touch) for more options. A pop-up menu appears in the middle of the screen.
- Tap the Microphone Audio icon and then the Start Recording button to begin.
- When you finish recording, the fastest way to stop is to tap the red timer at the top of the screen. You will see the message that the screen recording video was saved to Photos in your Notification Center, and you can tap it to open the Photos app and watch your video. You can also stop recording by going to Control Center and tapping the Screen Recording icon.
