Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game developed by American studio InnerSloth and released on June 15, 2018. The game became especially popular early in the pandemic and carved out a place among the most-played games around. With the lockdown period still going on, a different way was found to let people keep playing Among Us at home, and Among Us's card/board game was released.

The game has more than one way to play. So you can play with the same cards under different rule sets.

Total Number of Cards in the Among Us Board Game

Of the card type shown in the photo, there are 2 identical copies, and in total there are 450 cards with different powers and designs. The card's health is at the top, its attack power is at the bottom, and its number is right next to the artwork.

Among Us Card/Board Game: Play by Health

No matter how many people are playing, cards are dealt randomly but in equal numbers. Once the cards are dealt, they're shuffled and played face down without knowing the order. Whoever plays the card with the highest health becomes the owner of the cards in the middle. Continuing this way, whoever wins the most cards over the round is declared the winner.

Among Us Card Game: Play by Attack

There's no difference from playing by health. No matter how many people are playing, cards are dealt randomly but in equal numbers. Once the cards are dealt, they're shuffled and played face down without knowing the order. Whoever plays the card with the highest attack becomes the owner of the cards in the middle. If all the cards come out the same, the last person to play takes the cards. Continuing this way, whoever wins the most cards over the round is declared the winner.

Among Us Card Game: By Last Digit

Unlike the other two ways to play, rounds tend to run longer in this mode, and in my opinion it's a lot more fun than the other two.

Again, you shuffle the cards in your hand and play them face down without knowing the order. In this mode, which is based on the last digit, if the last digit of the card on top of the pile matches the last digit of the card you play, you get to win every card on the pile. Looking at the photo as an example: the last digit of the top card is 5. If the card played on top of it also ends in 5, you win every card on the pile. Continuing this way, whoever collects the most cards over the round is declared the winner.

Among Us Board Game: By Matching (Memory-Based)

This game mode also stands out as one of the most enjoyable ways to play. Since it also builds memory, it's the kind of mode where you'll have a good time as a family and get some brain exercise in too.

Using however many pairs of cards you decide on, you shuffle the matched cards and lay them out face down. Each person takes a turn flipping over two cards and trying to make a match. If they match, they keep the cards and take another turn. If the two cards are different, they're flipped back over and placed back down, and the next person takes their turn. In this mode, remembering which cards have been revealed and matching them when you see the same one again is key to winning.

The tricky and fun part is that the card artwork looks a lot alike, making it pretty hard to keep track of. Matching continues until only two cards are left. The last person to know where they are matches the final two cards, and whoever has collected the most cards overall is declared the winner of the round.
