Ubisoft has been clear about Assassin's Creed remakes: none are actively in development right now. Instead, Valhalla gets a long-requested New Game+ mode on November 5, and the next big Codename Hexe update is coming in 2027.
The news comes from Ubisoft's fall franchise update, shared on October 29. It also covers Black Flag Resynced, Invictus, the Netflix series and the series' 20th anniversary.

Is another Assassin's Creed remake coming?
Ubisoft's clearest line was about remakes: "We currently have no other Assassin's Creed remake actively in development." It added that its teams are focused on the next chapter, including unannounced projects with new settings and stories.
That door is not fully closed. Ubisoft says it loves the idea of revisiting classic titles and will keep exploring ways to bring older games back, signing off with the series motto: "Nothing is true, everything is permitted."
According to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft said it learned a lot from Black Flag Resynced, calling the job of rebuilding old systems and balancing legacy with new ideas a massive undertaking.

What does Valhalla's New Game+ add?
Ubisoft says Valhalla has passed 40 million players since its 2020 launch. To mark it, New Game+ lets players restart Eivor's saga while keeping much of their progress, with dedicated scaling. The update also adds:
- An optional progression mode where gear, runes and Masteries all feed into Eivor's overall Power
- New runes, achievements, a stash system and new rewards
- A Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin's Creed Shadows
- Mithril, a new resource used to upgrade Divine Gear and strengthen runes
Full patch notes, along with details on current-gen console updates, are coming soon. Wccftech adds that Ubisoft said feedback could shape talks about similar updates for other Assassin's Creed games.
Black Flag Resynced gets its last big update
Black Flag Resynced, released on July 9, has received its final major content update with New Game+, Nightmare Mode and new cosmetics, including Blackbeard's outfit and Edward's London attire. We broke it down in our Black Flag Resynced 1.0.8 story. Quality-of-life updates will continue.
Where Hexe and Invictus stand
On Codename Hexe, Ubisoft says it is making steady progress on this darker Assassin's Creed experience, with work still ahead. The next major update will come in 2027. As Wccftech notes, that is a news update rather than a release window. The Hexe section also ends with a coded message for fans to crack.
Codename Invictus, the multiplayer project, is evolving. Hundreds of players tried an early prototype in a private Insiders Session and liked the PvP, parkour, map verticality and playable franchise characters. But they wanted more of the series' core pillars, and the team has spent months acting on that.

Netflix series and the 20th anniversary
Production on Netflix's live-action Assassin's Creed series is nearing completion in Rome. The show is set in the Roman Empire, Hannah Peel is composing the score, and there is no release date yet. Ubisoft is also planning a year of reveals, updates and community events for the series' 20th anniversary in 2027.
Ubisoft's Benelux press release adds that a new Assassin's Creed leadership team, led by Martin Schelling, is shaping the long-term vision. Thousands of players took part in a March community survey, which asked for a stronger shared story and more regular communication.
