GTA 6 showed up in South Park this week with real gameplay. In the short clip, Jason hits a man on the beach with a bag of dog poo. New details via Edge also landed: police K9 units and spike strips that are almost invisible at night.
The short version
- South Park: Actual GTA 6 gameplay aired in the episode Guinea Pig on a Stick.
- Police: K9 dog units and far nastier spike strips.
- Tracking: Outfit and car descriptions are relayed to officers.
- More details: Trains and buses, a smell mechanic, fuel gauges.
- Launch: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What did the GTA 6 South Park clip show?
As VGC describes it, the episode follows Stan, Cartman and Kyle as they try to get local beef back into their schools. Near the end, a steakhouse owner takes the boys into a meeting room and switches on a TV. On screen is a GTA 6 gameplay sequence.
Jason walks along the beach and spots a dog owner bagging up after his dog. Jason throws something at him, a fight breaks out, and Jason grabs the bag and throws it at the man's head. The South Park character sums it up: "That is what is coming in November."
VGC says the footage was presumably provided to the show's creators by Rockstar. We have not seen an official Rockstar statement on that. Dexerto notes the poo-throwing option was confirmed back in August, but this is the first time it has been seen in action.

Push Square adds that fans think the presenter in the clip sounds like Tish Hicks, who voiced GTA 5's gameplay trailer. That is a fan observation, not a confirmed credit.
Not South Park's first Rockstar moment
Games have featured in South Park before. VGC points to episodes built around World of Warcraft and Guitar Hero. When Red Dead Redemption 2 launched, the episode Time to Get Cereal had Sergeant Yates annoyed that a case was getting in the way of his RDR2 sessions.
How is the GTA 6 police system changing?
The bigger gameplay news comes from Edge. As reported by Dexerto, Rockstar's Rob Nelson said police now have K9 units that will chase you down. In one demo shown to Edge, police dogs pinned Jason down after a brief chase.
Spike strips are getting meaner too. According to Edge, they are almost invisible at night and appear to shut a vehicle down instantly rather than just slowing it. In earlier games they were usually easy to dodge.
Police also work from descriptions now. Jason and Lucia's outfits and cars are relayed to officers. Destroying a car removes one piece of evidence, but if you keep the same clothes, cops will still get suspicious. Swapping cars alone may not be enough to shake a chase.
Other new GTA 6 details from Edge
Push Square rounded up more small details via Edge and GamesRadar:
- Working train and bus systems.
- A smell mechanic, with characters reacting to foul odours.
- NPCs behave differently depending on the region.
- You can switch between Jason and Lucia at any time.
- Their relationship runs on a four-point scale that grows as they spend time together.
- The Scooter Bros phone app can bring a car to you.
- Your full arsenal is stored in your car's trunk.
- Every car has a fuel gauge and engine health.
We covered the map's scale and the 600,000 NPC animations in our GTA 6 map size story.
What it means for players
The South Park cameo is mostly a marketing gag, but it shows Rockstar's campaign is in its final stretch three weeks before launch. The police details matter more. K9 units, near-invisible spikes and outfit tracking suggest escapes will be harder than in past games.
Fuel gauges and trunk-stored weapons could also change how everyday play feels. How these systems work in practice will be clear once the game is out. For preload timing and install size, see our GTA 6 file size report.
