Aurora Valorant is official. Aurora Gaming has announced a five-player roster headlined by derke and Boo. As a non-partnered team, it starts in the VCT 2027 EMEA Kickoff Open Qualifiers on November 5.

The Aurora Valorant roster

Here is the lineup as reported by Insider Gaming:

Player	Previous team	Notable
Nikita "derke" Sirmitev	Team Vitality	Finnish duelist; won LOCK//IN São Paulo and Masters Tokyo 2023 with Fnatic
Boo	Team Heretics	Won VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 1; IGL for the Esports World Cup 2025 title
trexx	Team Liquid	Won VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 2
chiwa	Joblife	Steps up from Tier 2
b1sk	UCAM	Two Challengers Rising Spain split titles

The coach is not named in the source we read. Aurora's CEO only says the team found "a great coach".

Why is Aurora entering Valorant now?

The move lands as VCT restructures for 2027. Aurora CEO Adalet Mamedov called Valorant one of the most promising titles in esports and an important step for the club's growth.

He also stressed how quickly it came together. In his words, it was "hands down the fastest roster build I've ever witnessed". Negotiations and signings wrapped up just minutes before qualifier registration closed.

The headliners: derke and Boo

derke is one of the most decorated players in EMEA history. With Fnatic he won VCT 2023 LOCK//IN São Paulo and Masters Tokyo 2023. Most recently he reached the Valorant Champions 2026 grand final with Vitality, losing 3-1 to LOUD.

We covered his Vitality exit in our VCT 2027 offseason roundup. Boo is best known for his time at Team Heretics, who won VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 1. He was also the in-game leader when Heretics won the Esports World Cup 2025.

The other three

trexx arrives from the Team Liquid roster that won VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 2. Insider Gaming notes that Liquid finished 9th-12th at Valorant Champions Shanghai after Semyon "purp0" Borchev was benched just before the event.

chiwa and b1sk move up from Tier 2. chiwa comes from Joblife, while b1sk won two Challengers Rising Spain splits with UCAM before their season ended early. It is a mix of proven stars and raw talent.

The road to VCT 2027 EMEA Kickoff

Because Aurora is not a partner team, it does not get a direct invite to Kickoff. It will play the VCT 2027 EMEA Kickoff Open Qualifiers starting November 5.

That is a tough path. Per Insider Gaming, only two teams can progress from the qualifiers to the Kickoff main event, while partner teams are invited directly. EMEA's 2027 partners include Turkish clubs BBL, FUT and Eternal Fire, as covered in our VCT 2027 partner teams story.

Insider Gaming still expects the roster to be competitive despite the non-partnered status, and suggests the star power should carry it through. That is a prediction; the results start on November 5.

What it means for EMEA

A roster with this much experience coming through open qualifiers could make EMEA's Kickoff field even stronger. First, though, Aurora has to win one of just two qualifier spots.

Aurora is busy in Counter-Strike 2 this week too, facing MOUZ in the PGL Masters Bucharest quarter-finals. See our PGL Masters Bucharest bracket story for the full matchups.
