How did Valorant China reach 100 million?
According to Strafe, the game hit the milestone just over three years after launching in China. Valorant launched globally in June 2020 but only arrived in China on July 12, 2023. Tencent runs the game locally.
Sheep Esports reports that Riot shared the news on Weibo, the Chinese social platform. The site also notes the announcement came just days after Valorant Champions wrapped up in Shanghai.
Strafe also points to an interview the local team gave Chinese outlet GameGrape. They said 55% of new Valorant players in China were trying a PC game for the first time. That suggests the game is reaching well beyond the usual FPS crowd.
Registered accounts aren't active players
It's worth reading the number carefully. 100 million is the total count of accounts created so far. It doesn't mean 100 million people are playing right now, and one person can own several accounts. Riot didn't share active player numbers in this announcement.
A China-only rewards event
Riot and Tencent are celebrating with an in-game event. It started October 27 and runs until November 27, 2026. Rewards include a themed player card, an emblem, a spray and stickers. Strafe says an Agent Token is part of it too.
Sources describe the requirements a little differently. Strafe and Sheep Esports say logging in to the Chinese PC version is enough. THESPIKE.GG says you need to finish at least one match. What's clear is that the rewards aren't coming to global servers.

What about Valorant Mobile?
The mobile version isn't part of this count, but it's huge in its own right. Valorant Mobile launched in China on August 19, 2025. Riot built it with LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS. Strafe says it gathered more than 70 million pre-registrations before launch.
It passed 100 million registered users in July 2026, before its first anniversary. In May 2026 it topped 10 million daily active players in China. China-only content keeps coming too. A Halloween mode called Trickster Invasion runs from October 29 to November 11, turning eliminated players into ghosts.
What does it mean for players outside China?
There's nothing to claim outside China, since the event is limited to Chinese servers. Even so, the numbers show how strong Valorant is in one of its biggest markets.
The real question is a global Valorant Mobile launch. According to Strafe, there's still no official date. When one arrives, it'll be one of the biggest mobile shooter stories of the year.
