LoL Patch 12.23 Meta Champions by Role (December 2022)

The LoL 12.23 patch arrived on the official servers this morning. Players who encounter a fresher patch naturally want to follow the new meta. But when they research the new meta, they can't see anything fully clear yet. So we decided to list, for you, the champions with high play rates and equally high win rates in the early period. Who Are the LoL 12.23 Meta Champions?

Top Lane

Shen

We hadn't seen Shen on any tier list for a long time. So we were surprised to see Shen in the S-tier as a result of our research. When we looked into why, we saw that Shen had received a small update. It seems the update to his ultimate has strengthened him a bit. Shen is already tailor-made for someone who knows how to play him. But now he greets us strengthened even for someone who plays the champion at a normal level. If you aren't too aggressive in lane and calmly complete your laning phase, you can have the capacity to carry the game or, at worst, tank all the damage.

Jungle

Nidalee

Nidalee's human-form W cost has been reduced, the E's mana cost has been reduced at later ranks and its cast range increased. In addition, the damage radius of Cougar W increased. This doesn't mean much for players who don't know how to use both of Nidalee's forms effectively, but Nidalee is an outstanding champion with crazy mobility and healing in Summoner's Rift. Especially the fact that the cougar form's abilities are free attracts many players. Human-form Nidalee's Q, meanwhile, deals quite considerable damage from long range. If you have good aim, picking this champion will work in your favor.

Mid Lane

Pyke

Let's get to the strongest mid lane champion in this patch. In Patch 12.23 there is a champion that dominates especially in mid lane, and as you can guess, that champion is Pyke. If you haven't played Pyke for years or are seeing him for the first time, we strongly recommend staying away. Because Pyke is an Assassin champion, you need to practice on him. This champion, just like Fizz, should be played by people with good aim.

Now you may ask me why people with good aim should play him. Or you might say, dear FireGhost, why are you questioning our aim in a game that isn't an FPS? You are absolutely right, but abilities such as Pyke's Q and our champion Fizz's ultimate need to be thrown at the opponent with proper aiming. If you miss these abilities, it is very likely that you will turn the fate of the game the opposite way. So if your aim is already good, you shouldn't miss these champions in mid lane in LoL Patch 12.23.

ADC

Jhin

Jhin has become the choice of many people who need a fun and unique ADC to play. Although he is quite different from other ADCs, his long-range shots deal tons of damage to enemy champions. Sona will generally be a great choice as a Support champion, because with her ultimate she can heal, attack and even stun. Those who like playing Jhin will love this patch. In this patch, Jhin appears as the No. 1 meta champion among Marksmen. If you spend his bullets properly, a late-game victory will be inevitable for you.

Blitzcrank

Blitzcrank is a champion that people who have improved their aim can play with his superior abilities. I'm not joking about aim at all. His Q can only be landed with amazing skill and amazing targeting. Even if pulling the enemy next to their Marksman does something bad, a Q thrown from a proper position can change the course of the game a lot. So people who will pick this champion had better lock in their choice with such situations in mind.
