Volibear Runes and Build Guide

After receiving an update, Volibear has become a favorite of many players, but there's no clear consensus on which runes or build to use with him. That's why we've seen players asking questions like how should LoL Volibear runes be, how should LoL Volibear build be. We couldn't leave these questions unanswered. Which lane should Volibear play? What Should Volibear's Runes Be?

Before we get into the champion, we'll answer the question every player has been waiting for: which runes should Volibear use? Of course, we won't cover every rune. In this article, we'll only recommend runes for the champion Volibear. If you'd like to see all the runes we recommend for Volibear at a glance, you can check the rune table below.

For Volibear's rune recommendation, you can take Conqueror from the Precision tree as your keystone. As secondary runes, you can take Triumph, Legend: Alacrity, and Last Stand on the left side of the rune page.

For the secondary tree, we can take Cloud Soul from Sorcery. As the other rune, we can activate Waterwalking to be ready for the game.

What Should Volibear's Build Be?

What is a build? First we need to answer this question. The word "build" actually comes from English. With the logic of constructing something, we're in a sense building Volibear's items. So we want to show you, in order of priority, how the build comes together until it reaches its final form. We want to go through it by priority. That's why, when players ask what a build is, we can explain it by splitting it into 3 parts. We'll explain these 3 stages — early game, mid-game, and late-game — by giving you the items for each.

What Are Volibear's Starting Items?

Before buying starting items for Volibear, you should decide which lane you'll play. In this article, we'll recommend items assuming Volibear is played in the jungle. Jungle champions have certain starting items. One of them, the Gustwalker Hatchling, is what we'll use for Volibear. Alongside this item, you can start the game with a refillable potion and a Trinket. The items you should pick up within the next 5 minutes are a pair of boots and Bami's Cinder.

What Are Volibear's Mid-Game Items?

Once the game reaches 20 minutes, we can no longer say the game is in its early stage. That's why the items we build will change. At this stage, the items you can pick up are Turbo Chemtank, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, and Dead Man's Plate. If the game ends around this point, you're already strong.

What Are Volibear's Full Build Items?

Once the game reaches 30 minutes, we can no longer talk about early or mid-game. From this point on, in addition to the items you picked up in the mid-game, you can complete your build by adding Thornmail, Force of Nature, and Spirit Visage. Picking up these items makes you both tanky and able to deal damage.

Champions That Are Strong Against Volibear
