Petit Planet's release date is set. HoYoverse's cozy space-themed life sim launches on December 4, 2026 for PC, iOS and Android, and it will be a free download on every platform.

The studio behind Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail is swapping combat for something calmer. You shape a tiny planet of your own and share it with a cast of fuzzy Neighbors.

Petit Planet release date and platforms

According to Gematsu, miHoYo announced the date. On PC, the game will be available through the Epic Games Store and a standalone client. There is no mention of a Steam or console version.

What kind of game is Petit Planet?

HoYoverse calls Petit Planet a "cozy galactic life sim". At its heart is your own little planet. You decorate your home and reshape the land, coastline and sky however you like.

You won't be alone, either. Neighbors wander the Starsea looking for a home, each with their own personality. You get to know them by helping out, giving gifts, sharing meals and going on quiet walks together.

What can you do day to day?

• Farm and harvest curious crops
• Go fishing and catch bugs
• Beachcomb along the shore
• Combine ingredients to find new recipes
• Sail the Starsea to explore new places and gather materials

The official description also promises playful sprites that pop up along the way. When you head out to explore, your fuzzy helpers come with you, and you can meet new creatures and friends.

Does Petit Planet have multiplayer?

Yes, but it is optional. The Galactic Bazaar is a shared hub where you can trade, play, create and hang out with other "Planet Tenders". HoYoverse stresses that you can just as easily stay on your own planet and play at your own pace.

From Gamescom to a release date

Petit Planet has been on the radar for a while. Pocket Gamer reports that HoYoverse announced at Gamescom 2026 that it would launch this winter on iOS, Android and PC, with pre-registration opening at the same time. Now it finally has a date.

The setup is simple. In Pocket Gamer's Gamescom hands-on, a mysterious space company called Loomix Co. hires you as a Planet Tender. Your job is to fish, farm and grow your little world. The site compares it to Animal Crossing and says it did not fully win them over, but that life-sim fans will find plenty to enjoy.

Languages and requirements

The App Store listing is already live. It lists support for 15 language entries, including English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Turkish. The full extent of each language will only be clear at launch.

On iOS, the game needs iOS 15.0 or later and takes up about 4 GB. Android and PC system requirements were not included in these sources. Pocket Gamer says it will be free-to-play with in-app purchases, though details have not been shared yet.
