Resonance of Fate Enhanced Remaster is out now on PS5 and PC. tri-Ace's cult RPG adds native 4K, HDR and 120fps support, upscaled textures and a new 2x game speed option.
It launched on Steam on October 29. According to Gematsu, it costs $34.99, and owners of the 4K/HD Edition can upgrade for $9.99.
What's new in Resonance of Fate Enhanced Remaster?
The Steam page says this release significantly expands the graphics options. The tri-Ace overview shared by Gematsu lists the rest:

The decimation filter is enabled in the settings menu. tri-Ace says it makes the image sharper and more beautiful than the previous 4K/HD Edition.
What does 2x game speed do?
Field exploration, battles and events all run at twice the normal speed. tri-Ace says this makes traversal smoother and combat even more exhilarating. It's a welcome option if older JRPG pacing tests your patience.
How much does it cost, and how do you buy it on PC?
Gematsu lists the Enhanced Remaster at $34.99, £28.99, €34.99 and ¥4,070. Anyone who already owns the 4K/HD Edition on PS4 or PC can upgrade for $9.99 or €10.25.
There is one catch on PC. On Steam, the Enhanced Remaster is sold as an upgrade DLC, so you need to buy the 4K/HD Edition first and then purchase the upgrade.

PC system requirements
The minimum requirements on Steam are Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-3330 or AMD FX-8350, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 7770, DirectX 12 and 90GB of storage. That targets 1280x720 with anti-aliasing off. The recommended specs, an Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with a GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 5600 XT, target 3840x2160 with anti-aliasing on.
Who should pick it up?
If you already own the 4K/HD Edition on Steam, the upgrade is an inexpensive way to get the new textures, HDR, 120fps support and 2x speed. Newcomers on PC need to buy both products. PS4 owners of the 4K/HD Edition can also upgrade, according to Gematsu. You will need a compatible display for HDR and 120fps.
Why does Resonance of Fate matter?
The game first released in 2010, followed by the 4K/HD Edition in 2018, which makes the Enhanced Remaster its third version. tri-Ace calls it a "gunplay symphony RPG".
At its heart is Hero Action, a battle system that blends tactical depth with fast action. The soundtrack is by Kohei Tanaka and Motoi Sakuraba. The story is set in the distant future on a devastated Earth, where humanity faces extinction. To restore the environment, people built a colossal machine called Basel and entrusted it with the cycle of life and death.
Zephyr, Vashyron and Leanne make their living as mercenaries. As they take on new jobs, they start to unravel the mysteries of their world and confront their own destinies.
