When does Steam Next Fest end?

According to Valve's Steamworks documentation, Steam Next Fest October 2026 started on October 19 at 10am PDT. It ends today, October 26, at 10am PDT, which is 5pm UTC. That leaves a few hours to grab any demo you still want to try.

Next Fest is Steam's showcase for upcoming games. Players get free demos, and developers get early feedback and wishlists. Valve's documentation also says a wrap-up page goes live on the final day, featuring the games with the most-played demos of the event.

The biggest name on the list: ArcheAge Chronicles

The most familiar title here is ArcheAge Chronicles from XLGAMES. Its Steam page describes an action adventure set in Auroria, a large fantasy world aimed at both newcomers and fans of the ArcheAge setting. There is no release date yet.

GamingOnLinux also points to the game's AI disclosure on Steam. The developer says AI tools were a starting point for some item icons, UI images and parts of the world map. The art team then edited or remodelled those assets, and no AI content is generated during play.

What kinds of games stood out?

Games built for friends dominate the list. In Worst Class Ever, five students break the rules in class while one player, as the teacher, tries to catch them. In No Body No Problem!, one player is the cop and the rest are suspects racing to destroy the evidence.

• Dumpster Gang: a chaotic 1-4 player co-op sandbox starring raccoons
• Mortuus: a round-based zombie FPS for 1-4 players
• HANDS OVER: a five-player co-op horror game built on luck and bluffing
• Haunted Paws: two puppies rescue their owner from a haunted mansion
• Fart Together: 2-4 players steer one shared raft in a physics game

Survival and action fans have options too. Frostrail is a survival FPS set in a frozen world, where you run and upgrade a steam-powered train. Never Be Alone is an open-world zombie game set 10 years after an outbreak. Deadzone Rogue 2 is an FPS roguelite against hostile machines.

Quieter games made the cut as well. Loftia offers a cosy online world for farming and crafting with friends. Abyssal Lapidary has you cutting gems in a gothic underground city. Find The Needle asks you to dig through about six million strands of hay for a single needle.

Which of these demos should you try first?

If you have friends online tonight, the co-op and party games on the list are the natural pick. If you play alone, Frostrail, Emberville and Never Be Alone all list single-player support on Steam. Several games also launch soon, with Emberville due on October 27 and Probably Stolen on October 28.
