TFT Set 6: Best Comps for Patch 12.2

TFT Set 6 has finally arrived. There's plenty of Gizmos & Gadgets to wrap your head around, so finding what's meta is tough. Don't worry, as of Patch 12.2 there's a list of the best TFT Set 6 comps and best meta builds you should try.

TFT Set 6 brings many new ways to play Riot's hit auto battler. With a huge variety of champions and traits, plus the complex Hextech Augments system, no two games will ever be the same.

Many different comps are viable in TFT Set 6 — but they all depend on your Augments. If you hit great Augments for a specific comp, you can freely chase it.

But some comps will always be better than others. The comps listed below are the most flexible, and they don't rely on good Augment rolls every game; that means you can freely flex between them to hit top 4 or win.

Without further ado, here are the best TFT Set 6 comps as of Patch 12.2.

TFT Set 6: The Best Comps for Patch 12.2!

Urgot-Based Comp

Urgot is one of the most flexible carries in TFT Set 6. He can hold the front line almost by himself, and as long as you have 2 Twinshot, he runs through anyone in the front line like it's nobody's business. He was nerfed in 12.1, but came back in 12.2 with some useful buffs.

He shines when you build around him. Once you hit Last Whisper and Guardian Angel, he becomes nearly unstoppable. Depending on the enemy front line, Giant Slayer (against high health) or Infinity Edge (against high armor) are great third item options.

Innovator-Based Comp

Innovator came back into the meta after a useful Patch 12.1 buff to both the 5 Innovator Mechanical Bear and Heimerdinger. That means you can play the flexible board around five Innovators consisting of Ezreal, Zilean, Heimerdinger, Seraphine, and Jayce (Singed early game).

Having an extra unit on the board is good in the early rounds and can help you win some early fights. Getting at least two stars on all your Innovators is the key to saving HP.

We've highlighted Fiora and Yone as carries, but there are other boards you can play depending on your items and cores. If you pick up a lot of AP items, Seraphine is a great pick alongside Morellonomicon, Archangel's Staff, and Spear of Shojin — with Orianna surrounded by a Chalice of Power on 5 Innovator 3 Enchanter 2 Socialite. As long as you have your Innovator core, you can carry based on whatever items you pick up.

Sniper Talon-Based Comp

Sniper has been quietly buffed across many recent TFT patches, and the latest bug fix in TFT Patch 12.2 may have pushed the comp from the sidelines into the meta.

5 Sniper is now a very appealing comp for anyone who can find a Sniper Emblem, with a set of Augments ready to power up carries like Samira, Talon, or Swain.

Sniper benefits heavily from three-starring, so it's a very roll-intensive game — you'll find yourself rolling down on 6 and 7 to three-star Talon, Swain, and Samira. With a Sion plus a random Empyrean spat unit (typically a Challenger for a Samira carry or an Assassin for a Talon carry), you can deal huge damage regardless of items.

As long as you hit a few core components (Last Whisper for Samira or Rapidfire Cannon for Talon, plus some tank items for Sion) and the crucial Emblem (or Heart Augment), you can crush lobbies with 5 Sniper. Still, don't feel locked into 5 Sniper — you can still successfully run 3 Sniper if you miss the Augments, but you'll need a lot of good items.
