Riot Games disabled Cypher for some urgent fixes, so VALORANT players can no longer play this Agent in-game. Many issues appeared in the game after the VALORANT 4.04 update was released. After the new patch dropped, Agents Yoru and Astra were pulled from the game so some core fixes could be applied to the characters. Both returned to the roster a few hours later. Why Was VALORANT Cypher Disabled?
Late last night, VALORANT's official Twitter account announced that they had disabled Cypher. As announced on Twitter, Riot Games says Cypher was disabled because of an issue that needs an urgent fix. It isn't yet clear when the character will return to the game, but it has been more than 6 hours and Cypher is still unavailable to players.

Unfortunately, we have no idea what the issue actually is. We know Cypher previously had some bugs that gave him an unfair advantage with his trip wire, but those bugs were supposed to be fixed with the 4.04 update, unless the fix caused a bigger problem.
It's genuinely disappointing that Riot Games didn't test the update before releasing it and applying it to the game's main servers. If VALORANT had an Open Test Server like many other competitive multiplayer games, these issues wouldn't have come up.
We'll update this post with new information as soon as we hear anything new from Riot Games about Cypher.
