Warner Music Group is continuing its metaverse partnerships. This time, the company has announced a partnership with the blockchain-based game Splinterlands. The music giant is expected to add the blockchain-based game to its lineup to expand revenue streams for its roster of musicians.

What Are the Details of the Warner Music Group X Splinterlands Partnership?

Warner Music Group (WMG) announced yesterday, Wednesday, that it has partnered with Splinterlands, a blockchain-based gaming company, to develop play-to-earn (P2E) games for its roster of artists. The company is currently pursuing a goal of "broader adoption and community building." That's why Warner Music Group's aim is to create mobile-friendly, arcade-style games. WMG's chief digital officer Oana Ruxandra commented on the matter: "I don't think we can underestimate how big the opportunity around P2E gaming is. As we build and unlock new revenue streams for our artists, we'll further deepen our fans' engagement with the value being created," she said. Warner Music Group, the owner of record labels like Atlantic, Warner Records, Elektra, and Parlophone, first entered the metaverse world when it announced in January that it would create a theme park in The Sandbox metaverse.
