Best ARAM Champions in League of Legends (Patch 12.18, October 2022)

ARAM is the League of Legends (LoL) game mode we like to play when we are tired of the usual madness in Solo queue. As of patch 12.18 in October 2022, the strongest champions in ARAM include Morgana (53.59% win rate), Vel'Koz (53.89%), Sion and Teemo. Some players have left Summoner's Rift for good and now spend their time only in ARAM mode. But who is the strongest champion in ARAM mode in patch 12.18?

ARAM is a 5v5 game mode in League of Legends . Although we already have a 5v5 mode in LoL, it is quite different from the normal game we find on Summoner's Rift. In ARAM, players are assigned a random champion to play, and the Howling Abyss map consists of only one lane .

We currently find ourselves in Patch 12.18, and the League of Legends World Championship is about to start. The time between Worlds 2022 matches is a perfect time to get stuck into an ARAM game. On this occasion, we have put together a list of champions we believe are especially strong in the single-lane game mode. Here is the full list of champions we would call strong!

Best ARAM Champions

Morgana

Morgana has always been a great pick in ARAM. With her Q she not only provides major crowd control, but with her W she also has a good amount of poke. In addition, her spell shield can prevent some powerful abilities from getting in your way. It is not surprising that this champion has one of the highest win rates in ARAM at 53.59%. If you are looking for a great way to engage with Morgana and get off her ultimate, try using the ARAM-specific Snowball summoner spell to get closer to the enemy team. Once you are in the middle of them, activate your ultimate. Zhonya's Hourglass can be a good investment so that you do not die before your ultimate goes off, since you are likely to be focused while engaging.

Vel'Koz

I don't think many people will be surprised to see this champion here. When Vel'Koz arrives at the Howling Abyss with his awesome tentacles, you know you are about to witness one hell of a show. Vel'Koz thrives where he can sit in the back and poke enemies, and ARAM, especially early in the game, is exactly that place. Not only do you poke all your enemies early, but later in the game you become a huge threat with your ultimate. Thanks to all the poke and burst damage, we find this champion at a 53.89% win rate in ARAM.

Sion

Even though I just explained that Vel'Koz is great because he can poke all the enemies in ARAM, Sion offers a completely different way to play the single-lane game mode. No matter how much poke your team offers, a Sion charging at your face will be hard to deal with . Having tanks that will take all the damage on the front line will also be beneficial for your team, and Sion is the perfect guy for this. Now, some people are against tanks in ARAM, but I feel our boy Sion may be an exception to the rule, right? At the same time, it is a lot of fun to charge at the enemy team that is trying to take him down as you fall back from the lane with enemies trying to stop you.

Teemo

Speaking of annoying abilities that can be placed on the small Howling Abyss map. Teemo's ultimate is very strong in ARAM and lets you keep certain parts of the map well guarded. First of all, by placing one of his mushrooms on top of them , Teemo's mushrooms can stop enemies from picking up the healing relics that appear in ARAM. Mushrooms are also great when your team falls back to defend . Place a few mushrooms in areas you think could be useful to your team and watch the game begin. Now Riot has tried to do something about Teemo in ARAM by giving the bigger minions true sight , meaning they will be able to detect Teemo's mushrooms. This may be a heavy nerf for Teemo, but the ultimate still provides great zoning for your team.
