Best Turkish FUT Cards From FIFA 10 to FIFA 22

Ultimate Team, FIFA's most popular mode, has been played every year since 2009. In fact, FIFA players have had the chance to play with hundreds, maybe even thousands, of different cards released over 13 years. So who were the best Turkish players in FUT that we've played since FIFA 10? How do the best Turkish FIFA cards rank from the past to today? We've ranked the best Turkish players in FIFA Ultimate Team since FIFA 10 for you!

NOTE: Since the Turkish League wasn't in the game between FIFA 12 and 14, only Turkish players based abroad had FUT cards during that period. The ranking was made accordingly.

Best Turkish Players from FIFA 2010-2013

FIFA 10

1. Nihat Kahveci (85)
2. Volkan Demirel (85)
3. Servet Çetin (81)

• In the FIFA 10 list, where Nihat Kahveci and Volkan Demirel share first place, other notable names include Bayern's Hamit Altıntop with 80 OVR, Gökhan Gönül with 79 OVR and 86 pace, and Stoke City's Fenerbahçe legend Tuncay Şanlı with 78 OVR....

FIFA 11

• The best Turkish player in FIFA 11 is Servet Çetin. The Galatasaray centre-back, who at the time had come close to a move to Marseille thanks to his strong form, shares his OVR with Arda Turan, a name that won't be missing from our list for several more years... The other name rounding out the list is Volkan Demirel, completing what would be Servet's last and Arda Turan's first truly great FIFA year.

FIFA 12

• In FIFA 12, the start of the three bad years when the Süper Lig was removed from the game, we unfortunately went without many Turkish footballers. Nuri Şahin and Arda Turan, who made us proud by moving to the two Madrid clubs (Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid) in La Liga for millions of euros at the time, take the top 2 spots on the list. Behind them is Mehmet Topal, who put together a strong run of form at Valencia and now wears the Beşiktaş jersey.

• And FIFA 13... otherwise known as Arda Turan's year. Doing tremendous work at Atletico Madrid alongside names like Diego Costa, Diego Godin, and Koke, Arda was reaping the rewards in FIFA too. Starting the year with an 84 OVR card, Arda made a Team of the Week once, then received a +2 upgrade in January to reach 86 OVR.

FIFA 14-17

• Besides keeping up his outstanding form that season, Arda Turan also achieved something remarkable with Atletico Madrid, winning La Liga ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid. As a result, his 85 OVR card became the strongest Turkish card in FIFA. There's also a new name on the list this time, Ömer Toprak, who earned a spot among the Bundesliga's Team of the Year players thanks to his strong performances at Leverkusen. With 81 pace, 88 defending, and 86 physical, he stands out for how well he'd fit into today's FIFA.

FIFA 15

• With the arrival of FIFA 15, something Turkish players had long waited for finally happened: the Turkish League was added to the game. Despite the presence of many Turkish players from Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor, and Bursaspor, the winner among Turkish FIFA cards was once again Arda Turan... Also, since Caner Erkin wasn't in the game in FIFA 14, the Team of the Season card that hadn't appeared for the 13-assist season he had back then finally reached players this year as he kept up his strong form.

FIFA 16

• In the 2015/16 season, the title race was between Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş came out on top. This was reflected in FIFA the same way. The top spot is shared by three Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş players.

FIFA 17

• FIFA 17, the first year to use the Frostbite Engine and the year FUT Champions was introduced, was a pretty successful year for Turkish footballers. With no fewer than 17 footballers rated above 80 OVR, the top of the list was shared by 3 different players from 3 different teams. While Okay and Cenk moved abroad the following year, Volkan Babacan never managed to recapture that form again.

• Moving on to FIFA 18, Burak Yılmaz tops our list with his remarkable card. The striker, who has played for all four of Türkiye's big clubs, has a card here from his second spell at Trabzonspor that's the kind that makes your jaw drop. The two names rounding out our list are Umut Bozok, who caught the eye with his strong performances in Ligue 2 and was selected for Team of the Season, and Cenk Tosun, who was deemed worthy of a Team of the Week award at Everton.

FIFA 19

1. Burak Yılmaz (91) (Team of the Season/TOTS)
2. Emre Belözoğlu (88) (Team of the Season/TOTS)
3. Mert Günok (87) (Team of the Season/TOTS)

• Although the top spot didn't change on our list, the Başakşehir players who fought for the title against Galatasaray right down to the final moments left their mark on the year. Mert Günok in goal, Epureanu in defense, and Visca and Emre in midfield are the standout footballers. If you noticed, I didn't count anyone up front. That's because Başakşehir tried playing without a striker that season, and many believe that's the reason they lost the title. We'll leave you with Emre Belözoğlu's card, which was never "meta" but oozed class.

FIFA 20

2. Ozan Kabak (88) (Future Stars)
3. Çağlar Söyüncü (88) (Team of the Season/TOTS)

• For the first time since FIFA 15, when the Süper Lig was re-added to the game, there are 0 Süper Lig players in the top 3. This is partly due to the new promos EA added that year. The FUT series, which released far more cards than usual, was just what we needed during the COVID-19 pandemic that shook us all. Nuri Şahin's card, made through a squad building challenge (SBC), reminded users of Gullit, while Ozan Kabak's card, whose photo appears below, reminded them of Cannavaro. Çağlar Söyüncü, meanwhile, was selected to the Premier League's Team of the Season and landed himself a fantastic 88 overall card. Choosing the Ozan Kabak-Çağlar Söyüncü tandem both brought success and meant playing with two Turkish players.

FIFA 21

• In last year's game, FIFA 21, the top 2 spots were shared by two players from Lille, who had a storybook title run in Ligue 1: Yusuf Yazıcı and Burak Yılmaz. Caner Erkin, both heavily criticized and hugely productive with assists under Erol Bulut at Fenerbahçe, landed 3rd place with his Team of the Season card. Since Yusuf Yazıcı and Burak Yılmaz are both from the same country and play on the same team, fitting both of them into your squad without losing chemistry was extremely easy.

• With FIFA 22, after our trip down memory lane, we're back to the present. The best card of this year so far is Burak Yılmaz's 84 OVR card, which was selected for Team of the Week (TOTW 9). At the time this article was published, it's still waiting for new owners in packs. In 2nd place is Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who broke Milan fans' hearts with his transfer to Inter. Burak Yılmaz's regular card rounds out the list in 3rd place.
