FIFA 22 Ultimate Team: Starting Squads for Every Budget

The starting squads you build in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team can either give you a fast start, or leave you fighting your way up from the bottom after a rough start and a poor season.

Putting together a good team early will be crucial for grabbing as many wins as possible in Division Rivals and Squad Battles. If you do well in these modes, you can qualify for the FUT Champions Weekend League for exclusive rewards.

Whether your budget is 15,000 coins or 100,000 coins, whether you're looking at the Premier League or the Bundesliga…

We've got a FIFA 22 starting squad for everyone.

The Best FUT 22 Starting Squads for Every Budget

Now that FIFA 22 has launched and the FUT economy is up and running, we have a more detailed rundown of solid starting options for your squad.

So let's take a look at some of the best starting squad options in each league.

FIFA 22 15K FUT Starting Squad – Serie A

Serie A stands out as the league with the fewest players in the Top 50 rankings. While Italian football fans aren't thrilled about the lack of big names, that makes Serie A the perfect place to look for players for a cheap starting squad.

We recommend going with Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, and a solid CM like Luis Alberto in midfield (even if his pace is a bit lacking). Fast players like Stephan El Shaarawy and Matteo Politano are also worth throwing out wide — both are players who'll absolutely deliver on a low budget.

Beyond that, it's really up to you, but keeping a Serie A-only squad's price tag under 15,000 shouldn't be difficult.

FIFA 22 20K FUT Starting Squad — La Liga

Spain's domestic league lost some big names this year. Lionel Messi is the first one that comes to mind. Still, that doesn't mean there isn't more than enough left to build a star-studded team.

Remember, players get an extra chemistry boost when they link up with a player from the same country, and since La Liga has plenty of Spanish players, high chemistry and cohesion can carry you to success.

Gerard Moreno will be your most expensive player here. Alongside Sergio Canales and Marco Asensio, Muniain gives you a very dynamic midfield, and Fernando adds a cutting edge as well. With this team, you can start off in a relaxed 4-3-3, pulling Fernando back into the CDM slot and pushing Canales and Muniain out to either side of him.

FIFA 22 50K FUT Starting Squad — Bundesliga

The Bundesliga has far more players in the Top 50 than La Liga or Serie A, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding high-rated players while building the best possible Ultimate Team squad.

A 50,000 FUT coin budget won't get you big names like Erling Haaland or Robert Lewandowski, but that's fine, because you don't need players of that caliber to put together a squad that gets you off to a strong start.

Diaby, in particular, is a name that will make a huge difference out on the left wing with 94 pace. If you want even more chemistry, you could also try swapping in Andre Silva or Yann Sommer for German players, though the affordable replacements you'll find for them are unlikely to have such a high rating. You can boost chemistry further by bringing in Guerreiro, another Dortmund player, in place of Witsel at left-back. You can then push Witsel into midfield to get a more dynamic central trio (in place of Müller). That way, you can hold onto your money and save up for new signings you might want to add later.

FIFA 22 75K FUT Starting Squad — Ligue 1

With Messi now playing for PSG, there will likely be plenty of teams built around the French league for FIFA 22. Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe are obviously very tempting, but none of these three players will feature here, since they're all priced close to, or above, 1,000,000 coins.

The good news is that a 75,000 starting budget gives you plenty of options for the French league. Wissam Ben Yedder will be one of your most expensive players, but since there aren't many other strikers worth using after Mbappe, it's safe to say Ben Yedder is one of the most important pieces of this squad.

FIFA 22 100K FUT Starting Squad — Premier League

Finally, we get to the Premier League. This holds true for any starting strategy or league, but the more FUT coins you have, the better your squad and the more success you can expect.

With a 100,000 coin limit, you can easily add Harry Kane, at least to start, and build around him. With Wilfried Zaha and Riyad Mahrez, you can push Kane out wide and let them cut inside onto their strong foot toward the box to find the back of the net.

If you're starting with 100,000 FUT coins, you have a lot of flexibility, so don't be afraid to swap out one or two players to suit your preference.

We'll keep bringing you new squad lineups going forward.
