Control Resonant has more than tripled Remedy's third-quarter revenue. The Finnish studio's revenue jumped 226% to EUR 39.6 million, and the game has passed one million copies to become Remedy's fastest-selling title.

The figures come from Remedy's January-September 2026 business review, published on November 3. A year ago, the company posted a EUR 16.4 million operating loss for the same quarter. This time it turned a EUR 0.6 million operating profit.

How many copies has Control Resonant sold?

Control Resonant launched digitally on all platforms on September 24, 2026. The physical edition followed on October 15. According to Remedy, the game passed one million copies sold on that day, three weeks after launch. That is the fastest pace in the studio's 31-year history.

The third quarter only covers pre-orders and the first seven days of sales. So the one-million milestone and physical sales will show up in the fourth-quarter numbers. Remedy also said the game still has 2.4 million outstanding wishlists.

Reception has been strong too. The report lists a Metacritic score of 83, a user score of 8.8/10, a 91% positive Steam rating and an average of 4.7/5 on PS5, all based on November 2 data. Players also voted it the top new game of September 2026 in PlayStation's Players' Choice poll.

Remedy's Q3 2026 results at a glance

The table below shows the key lines from Remedy's unaudited business review. Revenue for January to September rose 48.2% to EUR 62.9 million.

ItemJuly-September 2026Same period last year
RevenueEUR 39.6 millionEUR 12.2 million
EBITDAEUR 6.8 millionEUR 0.7 million
Operating profit (EBIT)EUR 0.6 millionEUR -16.4 million

Development fees came from the Max Payne 1&2 remake for Rockstar Games and the final Control Resonant fee accrual under the Annapurna Pictures deal. As a self-publisher, Remedy now pays platform fees and royalties directly. The company says Annapurna's share will drop once the initial investment has been recouped.

Half the players are new to Control

Remedy's analytics show that close to 50% of players were new to the Control series. The United States was the biggest market on both PC and console, making up nearly half of all sales. On PC, Chinese-speaking regions ranked second and the UK third. On console, the UK and Canada followed the US, and Brazil reached the top three by console units.

The sequel also lifted sales of the original 2019 game. The Alan Wake franchise, by contrast, had a quieter quarter.

What is Remedy working on next?

The report lists three projects. Control Resonant is in post-launch development. A new self-published project is in production readiness. The Max Payne 1&2 remake, published by Rockstar Games, is in full production. Remedy kept its 2026 outlook unchanged and still expects revenue and EBITDA to grow year on year.
