DLSS 5 comes to Hogwarts Legacy and War Thunder

NVIDIA has confirmed that DLSS 5 is coming to three more games in November. Hogwarts Legacy gets it on November 5, War Thunder in mid-November and Where Winds Meet on November 23. Support is limited to RTX 50 Series hardware for now.

The announcement went up on NVIDIA's GeForce site on November 3, and Gaijin confirmed the War Thunder news on its own site and on Steam. All three games will use the faster AI model NVIDIA released in October.

What is DLSS 5?

DLSS 5 uses what NVIDIA calls 3D-Guided Neural Rendering. It takes the frame the game engine renders and uses AI to add richer lighting and material detail on top. NVIDIA says the geometry and art direction stay the same. What changes is how light hits surfaces, the depth of shadows and the detail in materials.

Developers choose which model to use and how strong the effect should be. For players, it is a simple on or off toggle. NVIDIA says it has achieved a 10X performance gain in seven months since the March reveal. The tech first needed two RTX 5090 cards; it now runs on a single GPU.

Which games get DLSS 5 in November?

Hogwarts Legacy: November 5

Hogwarts Legacy updates on Thursday, November 5, in a collaboration with Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games. Support covers all GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and laptops, RTX Spark PCs and GeForce NOW Ultimate. Players download the update and switch on the Neural Rendering option. NVIDIA says environments get more detail and deeper shadows, character textures improve and reflections look more vibrant.

War Thunder: mid-November

Free-to-play War Thunder adds DLSS 5 with its Eagle's Shadow major update. The patch also brings dozens of new planes, ships and tanks, cluster bombs for aircraft and visual effect upgrades. Gaijin says DLSS 5 delivers better highlights, refined shadows and a new level of microcontrast. No exact date has been given yet.

Where Winds Meet: November 23

NetEase and Everstone Studio's open-world Wuxia RPG Where Winds Meet adds DLSS 5 on November 23. According to PC Guide, that date applies to North America, with other regions following on November 24.

How fast does DLSS 5 run?

NVIDIA shared some benchmark figures. They were measured at maximum settings with Ray Reconstruction, Reflex and 6X Multi Frame Generation turned on, which means most frames are generated by AI. They do not reflect native rendering performance.

All three games launch with NVIDIA's October 2026 model. It is 24% smaller at roughly 118 million parameters, uses 20% less VRAM at 4K and runs twice as fast as the previous version. NVIDIA says the matching Game Ready Driver arrives on November 4 in the NVIDIA app.

There is still no date for RTX 40 Series owners. PC Guide reports that NVIDIA plans to add support later, but the November 3 announcement did not mention it.
