AI summaryAs of June 2022, the Facebook desktop feed can be sorted chronologically by choosing Most Recent in the left menu, or by choosing See More first if it is not shown.
In the Facebook mobile app, the Feeds tab (a rectangle icon with a clock) shows posts chronologically, and is also reachable via Menu, then All shortcuts, then Feeds.
The Facebook Feeds tab has All, Favorites, Friends, Groups and Pages sections, and only the All tab appeared to stay reliably chronological in June 2022.

Facebook Feed recommendations don't always help. The feed is designed to suggest content you are most likely to want to see, and it depends on your Facebook activity, your connections and the level of engagement a given post receives. Facebook feed recommendations are also reported to be changing. But not every Facebook user cares about seeing the most popular posts or about Facebook's attempts to understand what you want to see. Sometimes you just want to keep it simple and see the latest posts that have been shared. How can you set your Facebook feed to show the latest posts? Let's take a look together!

How Can You View Your Facebook Feed Chronologically?
Desktop/Web Method
If you use Facebook on the web through your PC, setting your Feed to display chronologically (latest posts) is simple enough. Here is what you need to do:
- Open your favorite web browser on your PC and go to Facebook.com. Once there, log in to your account if you haven't already.
- After logging in, the first thing you should see is your Feed. To sort your Feed posts to show the most recent first, go to the menu on the left and choose Most Recent from that menu.
Your Feed is now sorted to show you the latest posts first. It should say "Most Recent" at the top of your Feed.
If you want to go back to sorting your Feed posts by Facebook's recommendations (Top Posts), click the blue Back to Top Posts link. If you don't see the Most Recent option near the top of the menu on the left, don't worry. You should still be able to access it by choosing See More from the same menu. Then, once the menu expands, the Most Recent option should appear. You may need to scroll down the menu on the left to see it.
Mobile App Method
First, a bit of background: Facebook's official guide on how to set your Feed to show the latest posts appears to be outdated (at least for Android devices). However, since Facebook's current guides for Android and iOS are quite similar to each other, we can assume that the new instructions below, which we wrote and tested (based on an Android device), will apply to iOS devices in a similar way. Here is how to view your feed chronologically in the Facebook mobile app.
- Open the Facebook app on your mobile device. By default, your app should show the Home feed, which will show all Top Posts but not the latest ones.
- To see the latest posts, tap the icon at the top of your screen that looks like a rectangle with a clock in front of it. This is the Feeds tab.
The Feeds tab has its own sections that you can choose to narrow down your new chronologically sorted feed further: All, Favorites, Friends, Groups and Pages. The Feeds tab will automatically default to All, which will show all posts in your Feed chronologically, and the All tab seems to be the only tab that reliably stays chronological.
- Another way to access the Feeds tab in the mobile app: Open the mobile app. Tap the three horizontal lines Menu icon. Then, under All shortcuts, select Feeds.
