EA recommends trying these in order and checking the game after each change:

1. Lower your target frame rate. EA's example is going from 60 FPS to 30 FPS. A steady lower frame rate can feel smoother than an unstable higher one.
2. Reduce demanding graphics settings, especially graphics quality and resolution.
3. Close background apps. Browsers, overlays, recording tools and launchers all use CPU, GPU or memory.
4. Check that RAM runs in dual-channel. EA says single-channel memory can cause stuttering. With one stick, or sticks in the wrong slots, your PC may run single-channel. Check in BIOS/UEFI or a hardware information tool, and read your motherboard manual before adding or moving RAM.
5. Update your GPU driver.
6. Check power settings: Windows power mode, laptop performance mode and your GPU control panel.

Use FC 27's new graphics options

EA's PC Deep Dive says the graphics menu was reworked in FC 27:

• New presets: Performance and Balanced modes, plus a High preset targeting at least 80 FPS and an Ultra preset targeting at least 120 FPS on the listed hardware.
• VRAM indicator: the menu estimates peak video memory use as you change settings. If it exceeds your GPU's memory, expect stutter and lower your settings.

• For DNS problems, try alternatives such as Google DNS or OpenDNS.
• Make sure your device's date and time are correct.
