Among FC 27 wonderkids, Lamine Yamal tops the list with 95 potential. On a budget? Mathis Albert, Kennet Eichhorn and Nathan De Cat all have 88 potential and cost under €5M.
This guide splits the best young players in EA SPORTS FC 27 Career Mode into two tables: the highest ceilings and the best value picks. All numbers come from the fifacm database and reflect the October 6, 2026 squad update.
What counts as a wonderkid here?

A wonderkid is a young player who can grow into a world-class one. We used one clear rule: aged 21 or under with at least 85 potential. For the cheap list we added a second filter: an in-game value of €5M or less.
Ages are as shown on fifacm, so a player may appear one year older in your save depending on his birthday. Value is the game's market value, not the asking price. Expect to pay more than this figure in negotiations.

Hidden gems under €1.5M
If the transfer budget is almost empty, start here. All of these players have 85 potential and a value of €1.5M or less.

Their current ratings sit between 58 and 63, so they will not start for most first teams in season one. Cup games or a loan spell are better for their growth.
Potential is no longer fixed in FC 27

Potential in FC 27 is a starting point, not a promise. According to Red Bull's rundown of the new Career Mode features, the game uses six development profiles that decide how fast a player grows, when he peaks and when he declines. Good form can raise a youngster's long-term ceiling, while poor form can stall it.
Regular minutes can matter as much as the number in the table.
What to check before signing a wonderkid

- Squad role: Three teenagers in the same position will split the minutes they need to develop.
- Contract end date: Players whose deals end in 2027 may come with different terms.
- Wages: Most players on the cheap list earn under €10K a week. With big names, the wage budget often runs out before the transfer budget.
- Loan status: For loan players, the club listed is where the player is currently playing.
