- Thai forward Suphanat Mueanta, 19, became Thailand's youngest top-league goalscorer at 15 in 2018 and has 14 Finishing and 18 Determination in FM22.
- Brazilian winger Matheus Goncalves, 15, tops the list with FM22 ratings of 15 Dribbling, 15 Determination and 16 Flair for Flamengo.
Finding good-value young talents in FM22 is an incredibly important strategy for success in the market, and by looking outside Europe, you can find exciting, hugely potential young stars — in other words, wonderkids — for a fraction of what you'd pay a European club.
Plenty of real-life football clubs have started finding success with this method.
For example, Julian Alvarez became the latest South American to be signed by a European club when Manchester City pulled the trigger on a deal in January.
With that in mind, here are seven great wonderkids from outside Europe you should sign for your team in Football Manager 2022 (FM22).
We tried to put together a good mix from different continents and nationalities, so don't worry — they're not all Brazilian.
FM22's 7 Most Promising Wonderkids From Asia and the Americas
Juan Diego Castillo Reyes
Having a great name is an important factor in becoming a Football Manager legend, and Castillo's got one to spare.
At 19, this Colombian goalkeeper plays for Fortaleza C.E.I.F. in his home country and looks set for a big future.
Physically he's already well developed, with an ideal goalkeeper frame at around 190cm.
Castillo has some impressive stats, standing out with 14 Aggression, 13 Handling and 13 Aerial Reach.
Even better, he shouldn't cost much at all. His contract at the start of the game runs until the end of December, and he earns a modest salary of around a thousand euros a week.
Suphanat Mueanta
The only Asian player on this list, Thai forward Mueanta is a seriously promising talent.
The 19-year-old plays for Buriram United in his home country and is already breaking records as a Thai wonderkid.
In 2018, at just 15, he became the youngest goalscorer in the history of Thailand's top league with two goals, and a year later became the youngest goalscorer in the Asian Champions League too.
In FM22 he backs that up with 14 Finishing, 13 Dribbling and 18 Determination, meaning you'll see him fighting for your team right up until the final whistle — a seriously promising talent.

Omar Campos
Left-back Campos represents the Mexican league — and really the whole of North America — on this list, and he was picked for good reason.
An attack-minded defender, he's an exciting talent for Santos Laguna thanks to his contributions in both the final third and defensively.
He's been linked with Celtic in real life, so we wouldn't be surprised to see this talent in Europe before long.
If his 16 First Touch and 15 Technique in FM22 have any real-life equivalent, he could be a smart move for Celtic — bad news for anyone hoping to get him cheap, though, as signing Omar Campos will likely set you back at least €6 million.
Maximo Perrone
We already mentioned Argentine Julian Alvarez, who swapped the Primera Division for Manchester City, and there's someone else here who could be about to do the same.
Perrone plays as a number 6 for Velez, but — and this is probably why City want him — he looks a lot more like Rodri than Javier Mascherano.
In FM22, 16 Decisions, 13 Passing and 12 First Touch mean he's a 19-year-old you can rely on as the foundation of a midfield three, helping teams that want to control possession.
Word is that a European club is close to signing Perrone for around €3 million.

Ibrahim Adel
If you don't want a goalscoring Egyptian winger on your team, is FM really the game for you?
No, we're not talking about Mo Salah — we're talking about Adel, a 20-year-old currently playing for Pyramids in Egypt.
He's already been compared to Salah, and if you watch a few clips, it's easy to see why.
His contract expires at the start of the game, making him a cheap and exciting option. If you're playing as Liverpool, you could even try him out as a fun alternative to eventually replace Salah in the long run.

Karim Konate
Ivorian wonderkid Konate, who won Ligue 1 in Ivory Coast with ASEC Mimosas in 2021, is a seriously serious talent.
He's already broken through at international level, and was even included in the Les Elephants squad for AFCON 2022.
A move to Europe seems inevitable and will likely pay off, but even if it doesn't, at 17 he's already achieved more than most players ever will.
In FM22 he has 11 Finishing and 12 Dribbling, alongside 15 Aggression and 14 Determination. A serious talent.
Matheus Goncalves
We've managed to avoid it so far, but the last player on this list was always going to be a ridiculously young Brazilian wonderkid.
Football Manager has long been synonymous with Brazilian wonderkids, and who better to represent them here than 15-year-old Flamengo winger Goncalves (we think he should follow Fred's example and just be known as Mat).
Goncalves's 15 Dribbling, 15 Determination and, most importantly, 16 Flair are eye-catching stats that would be remarkable for a 15-year-old on their own.
Still, they're joined by other well-rounded stats that make Goncalves a tempting option early in his career, with his whole game shaping up to develop into a balanced, powerful attacking threat.
