How did FURIA beat NAVI?

According to HLTV's match report, the series opened on Ancient. FURIA won both pistol rounds and forced overtime, but NAVI took all four overtime rounds to win their own pick 16-12.

Nuke also went to overtime. NAVI led 9-3 at the half on the CT side but could not close it out in regulation. A flawless four-round streak powered by Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato gave FURIA the map 16-12. On Cache, NAVI fought back, until a 1v3 clutch from Danil "molodoy" Golubenko swung the momentum. FURIA closed it out 13-10.

KSCERATO led the server with a 1.32 rating. For NAVI, Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy posted 1.28 and Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov 1.26. HLTV notes that FURIA are the reigning IEM China champions and are chasing a third trophy in a row.

The MongolZ return to the big stage

The MongolZ beat HEROIC 13-7 on Inferno, then won a marathon 19-17 on Nuke. HLTV reports that new signing Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga averaged a 1.86 rating across the 12 overtime rounds. Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold finished it with a 1v2. After four straight ninth-place finishes at Big Events, it is their first playoff run at that level since BLAST Rotterdam.

Legacy finish last

Legacy's slide continues. The Brazilians lost 2-1 to B8 and finished bottom of the event. HLTV says they are 3-10 in series since ESL Pro League and have now lost four in a row. Santino "try" Rigal did his part with a 1.42 rating, but Andrii "npl" Kukharskyi matched him with a 1.43 for B8.

Three teams from each group reach the playoffs. With the top two decided in both groups, the final ticket in each will come from the lower bracket. In Group B, Aurora face BETBOOM and Liquid face TYLOO, with the winners meeting in the lower final. In Group A, Falcons take on HEROIC and NAVI play B8.
