How were the last spots decided?

Only one European spot was left on the final day. HOTU lost the GLuck Moscow Cyber Games final to 1win, which put their fate in other teams' hands. That opened the door for whoever won FiRe Last Chance in Buenos Aires.

That team was 100 Thieves. HLTV reports they won the event without dropping a map, sweeping five straight series. In the final they beat Wildcard 2-0, taking Cache 19-16 in double overtime and Dust2 13-4. device led the way with a 1.53 rating.

The title lifted 100 Thieves to 18th in the European VRS. It will be the organization's first Counter-Strike Major appearance. HLTV notes the team qualified for the 2018 Boston Major but could not attend because of immigration issues.

Europe's last spot: 100 Thieves (FiRe Last Chance champions)
Americas' last spot: Wildcard (beat NRG in the quarter-finals)
Asia's last spot: Lynn Vision (TYLOO withdrew from HyperX Retake Season 13)
Missed out: HOTU, NRG, TYLOO, fnatic

Wildcard and Lynn Vision sneak in

In the Americas, Wildcard clinched the final place by beating NRG in the FiRe Last Chance quarter-finals. In Asia, TYLOO's withdrawal from HyperX Retake Season 13 in Lisbon before the playoffs handed the last invite to Lynn Vision.

Who are the favorites in Singapore?

Stage 3 holds the top of the world rankings. HLTV's list shows Spirit at No. 1, FURIA at No. 3, MOUZ at No. 4, Aurora at No. 5 and Falcons at No. 6. Vitality, BetBoom and Legacy complete the group. FURIA arrive as the reigning PGL Masters Bucharest champions.

Stage 2 brings Natus Vincere, G2, Astralis, The MongolZ, MIBR, Nemiga, 1win and FUT. Nemiga reached the Bucharest final only days ago, so they will arrive in form.

Why Stage 1 looks stacked

Stage 1 is unusually strong. FaZe, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Liquid, HEROIC and s1mple's BC.Game all start there, alongside 100 Thieves and PARIVISION. With so many proven teams, it is hard to call which eight will survive the first four days.
