How did FURIA beat MOUZ?

The series opened on FURIA's pick, Dust2. HLTV's live coverage shows MOUZ building a 5-2 lead, but FURIA levelled by half-time and then reeled off seven straight rounds to close the map 13-6. molodoy led the way with 24 kills and six opening frags.

Mirage, MOUZ's pick, flipped the script. KSCERATO opened with a pistol-round quad kill and FURIA went into the break 8-4 up. MOUZ then locked down their defence, won the first seven rounds of the second half and took the map 13-9. Hotspawn notes it was the first map FURIA had dropped since the Swiss stage.

Cache decided it. FURIA again led 8-4 at the half, and although nerves crept in after the switch, with both sides losing anti-eco rounds, the Brazilian-led roster held on to win 13-9.

When is the PGL Masters Bucharest final?

The grand final starts today, Saturday October 31, at 12:00 CET (11:00 GMT). It is a best-of-five. Before that, Vitality and MOUZ meet at 09:00 CET in a best-of-three for third place.

As ESTNN notes, both finalists were sitting at 1-2 in the Swiss stage and have won four series in a row since. Nemiga beat Vitality 2-0 behind a 1.52 rating from robo. FURIA look like favourites on paper, but Nemiga have already knocked out FUT and Vitality on this run, so writing them off would be a mistake.

Why the result matters beyond the trophy

ESTNN reports that the Valve ranking cutoff arrives on November 2, two days after this event ends, so the final carries ranking weight as well as prize money. Third place is also worth watching: MOUZ knocked out defending champions Aurora in the quarter-finals, and Vitality are still playing without regular captain apEX, who is on paternity leave.
