T1 Valorant part ways with Meteor and Munchkin

The T1 Valorant roster has been gutted: Masters Bangkok 2025 MVP Meteor, Munchkin, DH and both coaches are gone. On the same day, FURIA's entire Valorant roster officially became free agents.

The VCT 2027 offseason keeps moving fast. After big changes at Paper Rex and Sentinels, two more major organizations from Korea and Brazil have reshaped their plans. Both moves became official on November 2.

What changed on the T1 Valorant roster?

According to vlr.gg, T1 has parted ways with Kim "Meteor" Tae-oh, Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom and Kang "DH" Dong-ho. Head coach Kim "KDG" Dong-gun and assistant coach Lee "CheongGak" Il-ho are leaving too.

Meteor's exit was expected. T1 had already allowed him to explore his options, and he left when his contract ran out. That leaves stax, BuZz and iZu as the only players remaining from the 2026 lineup.

Meteor and Munchkin's time at T1

Meteor joined T1 after a memorable 2024 run with Gen.G and made an impact right away. He was named MVP when T1 lifted the trophy at Masters Bangkok in 2025.

Munchkin reunited with Meteor after moving from Gen.G ahead of the 2026 season. He began the year as the in-game leader on Controller. As the season went on, stax returned as IGL and Munchkin moved into a secondary calling role.

DH came up from T1 Academy for two short stints as a substitute. In 2026, he was replaced by stax after four group stage matches. Head coach KDG, a former Overwatch coach, took over last offseason after Autumn left for EDward Gaming.

Who left T1 and FURIA?

Here is where both teams stand. T1 is rebuilding around a core of three, while FURIA is leaving the mixed scene entirely.

vlr.gg notes that T1 now has few limits on who it can sign, since stax, BuZz and iZu can cover several roles. Still, finding a third head coach in three years may be the key task for a team still chasing its first Pacific title.

Why is FURIA leaving Valorant?

Insider Gaming reports that FURIA announced on October 30 that it would step away from the mixed VALORANT competitive scene in 2027. All players and coaches became free agents on November 2. The outlet says the decision followed FURIA's failure to secure partner status for the next two years.

In its statement, FURIA called VALORANT "our home" and said the door will always be open. It also promised more news soon about its future in the inclusive scene.

A short peak for FURIA

This roster started 2026 in style. It won the VCT 2026 Americas Kickoff grand final 3-2, giving FURIA its first tier-one VCT trophy. Things went downhill after that. At Masters Santiago, FURIA went straight into the playoffs but lost both series and finished 7th-8th.

The team also placed 7th-8th in both remaining Americas stages and missed the Esports World Cup 2026. The departing players are artzin, basic, C0M, koalanoob, Shyy and shaW. eeiu, benched in July, was also released. FURIA joins LYON, FOKUS, S8UL, RIDDLE and Global Esports among the organizations leaving tier-one Valorant.

What comes next?

The free agent market now includes an international MVP in Meteor and a full Kickoff-winning lineup. That is good news for teams preparing for the VCT 2027 open qualifiers. For more offseason context, read about Paper Rex parting with Jinggg and d4v41 and Sentinels releasing JonahP and Jerrwin.
