Sentinels release JonahP and Jerrwin, FNATIC drop Veqaj

Sentinels have released JonahP and Jerrwin. One of North America's most popular VALORANT organizations said goodbye to both players on October 31. On the same day, FNATIC and Veqaj mutually agreed to part ways.

The moves show just how busy the off-season is getting ahead of VCT 2027. For Sentinels, these are the first roster changes of the break.

Who have Sentinels released?

In its farewell, Sentinels told Jerrwin: "You were called up to do the impossible and never backed down." For JonahP, it wrote: "From rivals to part of the family, you were a veteran voice for the squad." Jerrwin had already announced he was allowed to explore other options.

How did Sentinels' 2026 season go?

Both players joined in a March 2026 rebuild, filling the spots left by N4RRATE and Kyu. Jerrwin took over as the main Duelist, and JonahP played flex and Initiator. The new lineup never found its footing.

• Stage 1: 2-3 in Group Omega, missed the playoffs
• Stage 2: 2-3 again, sent to the Play-Ins
• Play-Ins: lost 0-2 to ENVY, beat 2Game Esports 2-0, eliminated 0-2 by KRÜ Esports
• Result: no international event for the first time since 2023

VLR.gg lists Reduxx, johnqt and cortezia as the remaining players, with head coach Ewok and assistant coach GUNTER. That leaves Sentinels needing at least two new players.

Who are JonahP and Jerrwin?

JonahP is a North American veteran. He won Ascension in 2023 with The Guard's core and then collected regional titles with G2 Esports. Jerrwin is a young Duelist from the Challengers scene, best known for his time on SaD Esports.

FNATIC and Veqaj part ways

FNATIC have also split with French Initiator Veqaj after nearly a year. The club thanked him "for all his efforts under the Black and Orange despite a turbulent year." Veqaj joined in November 2025 to replace Chronicle.

His FNATIC spell started well, with second place at the SOOP Valorant League. A fourth-place Kickoff finish then cost the team a trip to Masters Santiago. After three straight wins in Stage 1, Veqaj stepped away for health reasons and CyvOph took his place. He said in August he planned to return, and he is now on Mandatory's Open Qualifier roster with starxo, runneR, MiniBoo and Kicks.

Before FNATIC, Veqaj won Challengers France Stage 2 in 2025 with Team Valiant, taking MVP honors, and then made his top-tier debut with Gentle Mates. FNATIC's current lineup is crashies, kaajak, Cloud and Alfajer.

What do these moves mean for VCT 2027?

Under Riot's new system, the season starts with Kickoff and everything after that depends on results. The North America Kickoff qualifiers run in November and December. The Americas Kickoff itself takes place in São Paulo with eight partner teams and four qualifiers. That calendar leaves little time to finalize rosters.

Former Evil Geniuses assistant coach meco1e also announced his retirement from competitive VALORANT on the same day. The off-season is only getting started, and many more moves are expected in the coming weeks.

Other big off-season moves: Paper Rex parting with Jinggg and d4v41, valyn leaving G2 and Aurora's new roster with derke and Boo.
