BLG sweep DK to reach Worlds 2026 semifinals

BLG sweep DK 3-0 in the Worlds 2026 quarterfinals to book a semifinal spot. Bilibili Gaming ended the run of Dplus KIA, who had not dropped a game, in Allen, Texas.

The result ended DK's perfect record in the Swiss stage. For BLG, it is their first semifinal since finishing runner-up in 2024.

How did BLG sweep DK?

The series was played on November 5. All three games ended between 32 and 34 minutes, so BLG's edge came from steady control rather than a long fight back. Here is a quick recap.

According to Esportsresults, Xun's Naafiri solo-killed Smash's Corki in game one. Elder Dragon and Baron closed it out. Sheep Esports also calls Naafiri the carry of the game.

What happened in game three?

Sheep Esports says Knight died for the first time in the series in game three. DK's Pantheon stole a dragon, the only one DK took in the whole series. BLG still secured the Mountain Soul, took Baron and marched into the base.

Esportsresults places the steal at about 23 minutes. DK then lost the fight and gave up Baron, and the gold gap passed 5,000. Xun, now on Trundle, kept invading DK's jungle.

What do the numbers say?

• Of 15 dragons contested against BLG, DK took just one, in game three.
• DK conceded the soul in all three games.
• BLG stay unbeaten in Worlds quarterfinals: 3-2 over Gen.G in 2023, 3-1 over HLE in 2024 and now 3-0 over DK.
• It is BLG's third Worlds semifinal in four appearances.

Those figures come from Sheep Esports. All three of BLG's quarterfinal wins have come against LCK teams.

How did the two paths to the quarterfinals differ?

GosuGamers explains that DK beat G2 and T1 in the first two Swiss rounds, then swept Movistar KOI in round three to reach the main event. They arrived without dropping a game. Esportsresults describes DK as the Esports World Cup champions.

BLG had a harder road. They lost to Movistar KOI in round one and to Top Esports 2-1 in round four. In the decider they beat Hanwha Life 2-0 to reach the main event. Esportsresults notes the prediction market Polymarket listed DK at about 42% at kickoff, so BLG went in as the favorite and delivered.

What does the result mean for both teams?

GosuGamers says BLG have secured at least a 3rd-4th place finish and $400,000. They were runner-up in 2024 and missed Worlds last year. Now they are back in the semifinals, with a possible rematch against T1, the team that beat them in the 2024 final.

DK leave in 5th-8th place with $300,000. GosuGamers calls it the organization's best Worlds result in four years. They failed to qualify last year and finished 9th-11th in both 2023 and 2024. The exit hurts, but it is real progress.

What are the semifinal and final dates?

Esportsresults says a place in the final at New York's Barclays Center is on the line. For the earlier rounds, see our DK vs BLG preview, the Gen.G vs LYON result and the iG vs TES recap.
