FC 27 Low Driven Shot: How to Do It on PS and Xbox

To hit an FC 27 low driven shot, press shoot (Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox), set your power, then tap the same button again straight after releasing it. The ball stays low and flat. If the second press is late, you get a normal shot.

What is the low driven shot?

The low driven shot keeps the ball close to the ground on a flat line. It is ideal for bottom corners, where keepers have to stretch, and for threading the ball through crowded boxes. In FC 26, EA removed Timed Finishing, saying it "didn't add meaningful skill depth and proved difficult to balance". The double tap that used to trigger a timed shot has produced a low driven shot ever since, and FC 27 keeps that system.

Timing is everything. As GAMES.GG puts it, the second press needs to come right after the first, not a second later. Spend a few minutes in the practice arena before trying it in Rivals or Champions.

EA Help's official shooting guide confirms it: in FC 26 and FC 27, pressing shoot again after setting power makes most shots low driven. The modifier works with finesse, power and trivela shots, but not with a chip shot. It also works on airborne balls: press again after setting power on a volley or header for a low attempt. A trivela needs the Game Changer PlayStyle; without it, the player strikes with the top of the foot. What changed for low driven shots in FC 27?

EA's Gameplay Deep Dive made one important change to the Low Driven PlayStyle:

• No more speed boost. Low Driven and Low Driven+ no longer add extra shot speed.
• Velocity depends on the player and you. Shot speed now comes from the shooter's shooting attributes and the power you apply.
• The accuracy boost stays. The PlayStyle and PlayStyle+ still make these shots more accurate.

In practice, a low driven shot from a player with weak Shot Power and Finishing will not fly as hard as it did in FC 26. Check those attributes on your strikers and wingers.

When to use the low driven shot

1. Inside the box, around 10-15 yards out. GAMES.GG calls this the sweet spot and advises against using it from outside the box.
2. Into the bottom corners and near post. These are the hardest areas for keepers to reach.
3. With 2-3 bars of power. That is GAMES.GG's recommendation. Too much power can lift the ball; too little hands the keeper an easy save.
4. In one-on-ones and crowded boxes. FIFPlay recommends it across the keeper and when there are lots of legs in front of you.
5. Use the finesse variant when cutting in. The low driven finesse shot adds curl towards the far corner.
6. Use the power variant with a clean look. The low driven power shot combines speed with a low trajectory, but the long wind-up makes it risky with a defender close by.

Which players are best at low driven shots?

Players with the Low Driven PlayStyle or PlayStyle+ strike these shots more accurately. With the speed boost gone in FC 27, Shot Power and Finishing matter as much as the PlayStyle.
