Gen.G revealed the first four players of its 2027 VALORANT roster. On t3xture's SOOP stream, Dambi and MaKo joined and Karon was retained. A fifth player is still on trial.

VLR.gg reported the news. Gen.G missed every international LAN in 2026. A 5th–6th finish in Stage 2 was its best result of the year.

Who is on Gen.G's 2027 VALORANT core?

The announced core looks like this:

Player	Role note	Previous team
t3xture	Duelist	Gen.G
Dambi	Duelist (Neon/Raze/Waylay)	Nongshim RedForce
MaKo	Controller	KRX / DRX
Karon	Controller (earlier Sentinel trials)	Gen.G
5th player	On trial	To be announced

Why do Dambi and MaKo matter?

Dambi won Masters Santiago with Nongshim and took MVP. For much of two years he was called one of the world's best Neon players. After Neon nerfs he also played Raze and Waylay.

MaKo had worn Vision Strikers/DRX colors since 2021. This is his first move away from that org. KRX missed a 2027 Korea partnership slot and cleared the roster. Partnerships stayed with Gen.G and T1.

Is there role overlap?

Yes. t3xture and Dambi are duelists. Karon and MaKo are controllers. Initiator looks thin; VLR notes almost no Initiator maps among the four. The fifth signing is expected to fill that gap. Raxcal's academy deal runs through 2028, but his 2027 main-roster status is unclear.

Why did the Pacific partner picture change?

Korea's 2027 partnerships stayed with Gen.G and T1. After KRX lost a slot, it released most of its roster. That freed names like MaKo. Gen.G itself is rebuilding after parting with Ash, Efina and peri. Read this update alongside our earlier Pacific transfer table for the full picture.

What should fans watch next?

Gen.G is rebuilding a Pacific contender. The IGL question is open. The window is still active; watch for the fifth player and coaching notes (solo, HSK).

After peaking near the top of Pacific and VCT in 2024, Gen.G reached only one international in 2025 and none in 2026. Dambi's Masters MVP form and MaKo's controller consistency raise expectations again. Going into Kickoff without settled roles would still be a risk.

For VCT context, read our VCT Pacific roster moves story, our VCT 2027 integrity rules post and our VCT 2027 partner teams article.

Why did Gen.G's 2026 roster break up?

Through the season Lakia and Efina rotated the IGL seat. Our Pacific transfers story already covered Ash, Efina and peri departing. t3xture and Karon stayed as the core. Academy names Raxcal and Xiesta are also in the conversation; Xiesta's age or eligibility notes may matter before Kickoff.

Dambi leaving Nongshim moves an Ascension-made star onto a partner roster. MaKo is leaving the DRX/KRX identity for the first time. Signing both at once is ambitious on star power and role balance. If the double-smokes and double-duelist puzzle does not settle, the map pool gets awkward.

VCT 2027 also tightens online qualifiers and Vanguard Check rules. Partner teams face roster-stability and regional-player requirements. Gen.G's new pieces will have to fit that frame. The fifth signing and IGL call before Kickoff will shape Pacific strength.

For fans, the near-term watchlist is clear: the fifth-player reveal, an IGL announcement, scrim chatter and the Kickoff lock. Whether MaKo takes the IGL burden is a separate question; that role hurt his form before.
