LoL 12.5 Support Tier List

League of Legends fans, welcome to our series where we build a tier list — a power ranking — for every lane to help you climb to victory. In this article, we're covering the LoL 12.5 Support tier list. There isn't really much of a change with this patch. The meta champions from the previous patch are actually still the meta champions for this one too. So what are these champions? Why are they in the meta? We'll try to answer questions like these in today's article. Here are the support champions we have picked for you that should be in the meta.

What Is the LoL 12.5 Support Tier List?

In today's article, our goal is to rank the champions that should be played in the Support role — another essential part of the bot lane — by power, and give you the top-level picks. We're splitting this power ranking into S-Tier and A-Tier. Here are the LoL 12.5 Support S-Tier and A-Tier champions we have picked for you.

S-Tier Support Champions

Blitzcrank

Blitzcrank is a champion that lets players who've honed their aim shine with his standout ability. I'm not joking at all about the aim. His Q ability can only be landed with excellent skill and excellent target selection. Even though pulling the enemy toward your marksman can go badly, a well-placed Q can completely change the course of the game. So players picking this champion would do well to keep situations like this in mind before locking in.

Soraka

Just like with Blitzcrank, players who pick Soraka need to know exactly where to land her ability. That said, Soraka is a very good support champion. With her ability to heal her marksman or, later in the game, her other teammates, she can pull her team back from the brink. On top of that, Soraka has an ability that can silence an enemy's ability use. If she uses this ability at just the right critical moment, she can completely swing the outcome of the game.

Janna

Like most support champions, Janna also has a way to knock up her enemies. Her Q ability simply sends out a gust of wind that knocks enemies into the air. Enemies caught in this gust are lifted up and stunned. On top of that, her ultimate lets her knock back a group of enemies to save a teammate caught in a fight. I think this ability is way too strong. If you want a simple and powerful support champion, we recommend you don't pass up Janna.

A-Tier Support Champions

Renata Glasc

Even though Renata is a newly released champion, she unfortunately doesn't make it into the S-Tier. Players probably aren't yet aware of what her abilities can do. Even so, Renata still has a win rate that's nothing to scoff at. Her win rate, calculated at 51.39%, has earned her a spot in the A-Tier compared to most other supports.

Senna

It still hasn't quite been settled whether this champion should be played as an ADC or a support, but in this patch we're covering her as a support. In our view, and honestly in my own view too, Senna is a marksman. If you build her with marksman items, she turns into a very strong marksman. But the balance changes that have come through have pushed her toward being played as a support. Senna has a win rate that's far from negligible in games where she's played as support. Her win rate, calculated at 52.11%, is above most other A-Tier champions. When all the other champions we have listed are banned, Senna can be a great alternative for you.
