MOUZ beat BETBOOM 2-0 in the IEM Beijing 2026 semifinals to reach the grand final. The European side won Ancient 13-7 and Mirage 13-8 and still have not dropped a map all event. The MongolZ wait in the final.

HLTV's report describes a flawless MOUZ run since the group stage. BETBOOM took a gamble in the veto by allowing the same two maps they lost on in the groups, and it did not pay off.

How did MOUZ beat BETBOOM?

On BETBOOM's Ancient pick, the Russian side started fast. Aggressive openings from Boombl4 and S1ren put them 4-0 up. MOUZ coach sycrone called a timeout, and from there MOUZ began shutting down BETBOOM's attacks in a coordinated way. xertioN's fragging gave MOUZ the lead at half, and they kept control after the switch. xertioN closed the map with a 1v3 clutch.

Mirage was tighter and finished 6-6 at half. In the second pistol round, PR stopped BETBOOM's B rush alone with four USP headshots. MOUZ were comfortable on defence after that and took the map 13-8.

Who was the star of the series?

HLTV's stats show xertioN was the standout by a distance, going 40-20 with 111 ADR and a 1.67 Rating 3.0. PR followed with 1.43. For BETBOOM, only S1ren finished above average at 1.11.

  • xertioN (MOUZ): 40-20, 111.0 ADR, 1.67 rating
  • PR (MOUZ): 35-20, 90.5 ADR, 1.43 rating
  • torzsi (MOUZ): 30-18, 63.9 ADR, 1.15 rating
  • S1ren (BETBOOM): 30-28, 80.0 ADR, 1.11 rating
  • Boombl4 (BETBOOM): 22-33, 65.1 ADR, 0.81 rating

How did both teams get here?

This was the second meeting between MOUZ and BETBOOM in Beijing. MOUZ also won the group stage clash, 13-6 on Ancient and 16-14 in overtime on Mirage, which made BETBOOM's decision to allow the same maps again all the more surprising. MOUZ also beat PARIVISION in the groups and went straight to the semifinals.

BETBOOM took the long road. They beat Aurora 2-0 and Liquid 2-1 in the lower part of the group, then knocked out FURIA in the quarterfinals. That run seemed to leave little in the tank against MOUZ. Like MOUZ, BetBoom will start the PGL Major Singapore directly in Stage 3.

Who is the favourite?

On paper, MOUZ. They have not lost a map in Beijing and sit well above The MongolZ in the HLTV world ranking. But The MongolZ are in their first Tier 1 final since nin9 joined the starting lineup in early October, and they looked sharp against NAVI. MOUZ have the experience edge in a best-of-five, while both teams arrive with momentum.
