Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble has been cancelled. Sony and Oh BiBi are ending development of the free-to-play mobile arena shooter. The final update lands today, the app leaves stores on November 21, and servers shut down on May 1, 2027.
The game was announced in November 2025 and soft-launched in the Philippines and Indonesia, then Nordic countries, Canada and the UK. A full worldwide launch never happened.
Why is Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble shutting down?
The notice on the official site is clear: development is ending. Oh BiBi thanks the community. Sony Interactive Entertainment published the game, built with Insomniac. The FAQ stresses that other Ratchet & Clank titles and PlayStation services are unaffected.
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| November 6, 2026 | Final planned update rolls out on the App Store and Google Play |
| November 21, 2026 | Game is delisted; no new downloads |
| May 1, 2027 | Servers shut down permanently; the game will not load |

How long can players keep playing?
If you already installed the game, you can keep playing until May 1, 2027. After delisting, existing installs still work, but reinstalling requires a download before November 21.
Qwark Pass seasons continue until end of service. The Super Pass is now free. In-app purchases are gone. You can still earn rewards and spend currency on upgrades, cosmetics and characters.
- Pre-registration rewards appear in the Inbox after the November 7 update.
- Spend unused currency before May 1, 2027.
- Player data is wiped at shutdown; contact support to delete earlier.
- Progress cannot be transferred to another game.
What does the cancellation mean?
Ranger Rumble was one of PlayStation's free-to-play mobile tests. It stayed in soft-launch regions and never reached a full release. The pattern is familiar: limited regional testing, then a public wind-down calendar.
The main console Ratchet & Clank games are not affected. The notice says so outright. For mobile players, the months until May 2027 are a farewell window with free Super Pass access and ongoing seasons.
Why did soft launch never become a full release?
Soft launches test a game in limited countries. Ranger Rumble stayed in a handful of regions for about a year. No worldwide launch date ever landed. The notice does not share success metrics. The delist and server shutdown calendar still show the project was not sustainable commercially.
What should players do now?
If you still play, do three things. Keep the app installed before November 21. Spend leftover currency. If you want a refund, check App Store or Google Play rules.

What kind of game was Ranger Rumble?
The official synopsis called it a fast-paced multiplayer platformer arena shooter. It promised legendary heroes from across the galaxy and time, Ranger customization and chaotic modes. Jumping, dashing, grinding and collecting bolts tried to bring Insomniac's series language to mobile screens. Marketing also leaned on Captain Qwark watching over players.
In soft-launch countries, matchmaking and competitive modes stay up until the servers close. You can keep playing the current content set through May 2027. There is no promise of new seasonal maps. The wind-down window looks built for spending leftover rewards and cosmetics.
For players pushing Qwark Pass until the May 2027 shutdown, the free Super Pass matters. A formerly paid track is now open to everyone. Finish cosmetics and character upgrades in that window. For refunds, check Apple or Google policy; Oh BiBi does not promise direct refunds. The support link sits in the official FAQ.
Mobile F2P experiments in the PlayStation ecosystem sometimes end quietly. This notice shelves the project without touching the main console series. If you still play, put two dates on the calendar: November 21 for store delisting and May 1 for servers.
