Sentinels sign brawk as Cloud9 and G2 reshuffle

The Sentinels brawk signing is one of the biggest moves of the VALORANT offseason. Sentinels have added Champions Paris MVP Brock "brawk" Somerhalder from NRG, just one day after signing OXY.

Two more North American teams made changes the same day. Cloud9 parted with three players and signed GLYPH, while G2 Esports said goodbye to BABYBAY. Rosters across the Americas are moving fast ahead of VCT 2027.

Why does the Sentinels brawk signing matter?

brawk joined NRG in February 2025. After a rough Stage 1, the team turned its season around, qualified for Champions Paris and won the event without dropping a series. brawk was named MVP at his first international VCT event, earning a reputation for his Odin play and Initiator work.

NRG did not win another trophy in 2026, but they attended all three international events. They finished third at Masters Santiago and in the top six at Champions Shanghai.

In his statement, shared by VLR.gg, brawk explained the move: "Being a pro player sometimes requires very tough decisions and my goal as a player is to put myself in the best spots to win another trophy. I have nothing but love and respect for all of my teammates, coaches, staff and wish everyone the best of luck going forward."

Sentinels' new lineup

Sentinels released JonahP and Jerrwin only days ago. With OXY and brawk in, the roster now reads:

• Mohamed "johnqt" Amine Ouarid
• Yassin "Reduxx" Aboulalazm
• Francis "OXY" Hoang
• Brock "brawk" Somerhalder
• Gabriel "cortezia" Cortez
• Head coach: Ewok, assistant coach: GUNTER

VLR.gg says Sentinels are trying to build one of the strongest rosters in North America and get back into title contention. We covered their tough 2026 in our JonahP and Jerrwin story and the first big move in our OXY signing report.

What does brawk bring to Sentinels?

Sentinels had a rough 2026 and missed international events for the first time since 2023. Two big signings in two days show the club wants to contend again. brawk brings a title, an MVP award and a full year of international experience, plus an unusual Odin style that opponents must prepare for.

What changed at Cloud9 and G2?

Cloud9 have started building their 2027 roster. They parted with Zellsis, OXY and Jackk and signed GLYPH. Cloud9 spent 2026 near the bottom of the Americas standings and went out 1-2 in the Stage 2 play-ins. They were also not chosen as a partner team for 2027.

GLYPH spent the second half of 2026 with ENVY. Earlier in the season, he played for Gentle Mates in EMEA, where the team finished second at EMEA Kickoff and top eight at Masters Santiago. For now, Cloud9's roster is just FireBallOps and GLYPH.

G2 part ways with BABYBAY

G2 Esports have parted with Andrej "BABYBAY" Francisty. He joined the starting lineup for 2026 in place of JonahP. G2 finished fourth at Masters Santiago, won Stage 1 and placed fourth again at Champions Shanghai. BABYBAY is the second player to leave after valyn last week. G2, a partner team for 2027, now have jawgemo, trent and leaf.

What comes next before VCT 2027?

The Americas market is far from settled. NRG need to replace their MVP, while G2 and Cloud9 still have spots to fill. For more offseason moves, see our VCT 2027 offseason roundup.
