What Does DNP Mean in Sorare?

Sorare is a football simulation game where you buy NFT cards of footballers, earn points based on their real-life performances, and rank and win prizes in tournaments based on the total of those points.

By seeing the scores a player has racked up based on their average performance over their last 5 or 15 matches, you can figure out whether they're worth picking, whether they're in form, and whether they're actually playing, and decide whether to transfer that player.

Alongside a player's performances, you may also see the DNP tag.

What Does DNP Mean in Sorare?

DNP stands for "Did Not Play." You'll see the DNP tag next to a match or next to a player's overall status when that player wasn't in the squad or their coach didn't give them any playing time. When you see this, you should understand that player didn't play.

What Does a DNP Player Mean in Sorare and How Is It Determined?

In Sorare, if a player hasn't gotten any playing time in their last 5 matches, DNP appears above the player's name, meaning they didn't play in their last 5 matches, i.e., they're DNP.

Looking at Dominik Greiff on SorareData as well, the player hasn't had any playing time in his last 15 matches and has only racked up a score total of 25 across his last 40 matches. When you're looking to transfer a player and research turns up stats like these, you should look into why the player isn't playing, whether it's due to injury, the form of the players ahead of them, or some other reason, and act accordingly.

Should You Transfer a DNP Player in Sorare?

This entirely depends on your view of the game and your transfer strategy. If you transfer a DNP player, you won't be able to benefit from them or include them in the teams you build each week. But if you see potential in the player, are making a forward-looking transfer, or the player can't play because of injury, their price is usually much lower than normal during their DNP period, so you can make the transfer during that window.

Notice that in none of the matches on the list was he even in the squad, but in the part I've marked, the player was in the squad but the coach didn't give him any minutes. Since Dominik is a player I follow and own, I know he's been dealing with a serious back injury for the last 2 months and hasn't been in the squad, but someone who doesn't know this should research it and buy cards accordingly.

How Can I Join Sorare with a Referral Code?

If you join without a referral code, you won't get the benefit of the gift card. Joining with a referral code has no downside at all, and in fact you benefit from earning an extra player :)
