LoL 12.2 Top Lane Tier List: Top 5 Champions (January 2022)

Do you want to get better at League of Legends? Have you read our guides and still are not improving? Then you are probably playing the wrong champions. But do not worry, we have something just for you right here. Our new tier list series, where we look at the best champions of every patch, is here. Today we are looking at LoL Patch 12.02.

In this patch, Tahm Kench is getting some big changes to his kit in the hope of pulling him back into support. In addition, Shen is also getting some nerfs, so top lane is ready for some pretty good changes.

Top 5 Top Lane Champions in LoL Patch 12.2!

5. Riven

With the Teleport changes, champions who can use Ignite find themselves in a much better position. Riven is among them, mobile enough to affect the map and escape being ignited. Make sure you abuse her while you can!

4. Tryndamare

Tryndamere has been increasing in popularity for a while. Since he is also viable in mid lane, he becomes a really strong flex pick in case you or a teammate ends up in a bad matchup. He is also incredibly easy to play, so make sure you take advantage of such a mechanically simple champion being strong!

3. Singed

Singed and all his AP top lane friends find themselves in a fairly comfortable place this season. Because of the buffs to mage items, everyone who can indirectly build AP got a buff, and Singed is no exception. He also counters Tryndamere, currently one of the strongest and most popular champions. How convenient!

2. Akshan

Akshan not only enters this patch with a new look, but also sits nicely as one of the best mid lane players and one of the best top laners. With a 53.26% win rate, Akshan will soon be hit by some nerfs. Make sure you play him while you can!

1. Cassiopeia

Because of the increase in game length this season, scaling mages have become incredibly powerful. While Kassadin and Vladimir dominate mid lane, Cassiopeia dominates top lane. Your opponents will not know what hit them as they watch you slither while they die poisoned.
