LoL Worlds 2022 Dates and Seeding Announced

The 2022 League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds 2022) is just around the corner. The 2022 World Championship is expected to kick off in Mexico City on September 29 and wrap up in San Francisco on November 5. The tournament's schedule and dates have been set as follows:

LoL Worlds 2022 Tournament Schedule

• Play-In: September 29-October 4, Arena Esports Stadium, Artz Pedregal, Mexico City, Mexico.
• Group Stage: October 7-10 and October 13-16, Hulu Theater, Madison Square Garden, New York, USA.
• Quarterfinals: October 20-23, Hulu Theater, Madison Square Garden, New York, USA.
• Semifinals: October 29-30, State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
• Final: November 5, Chase Center, San Francisco, California, USA.

24 teams from around the world are expected to compete at the World Championship. However, the LCL won't be able to send a representative to the 2022 World Championship. The LCL's spot will go to the region that has posted the best performance at international events over the past two years but doesn't already have 4 seeds — Europe. It's known that 12 of the 24 teams will start out in the Play-In stage:

• China (LPL) - Seed 4
• Korea (LCK) - Seed 4
• Europe (LEC) - Seeds 3 and 4
• North America (LCS) - Seed 3
• Southeast Asia (PCS) - Seed 2
• Vietnam (VCS) - Seed 2
• Brazil (CBLOL) - Seed 1
• Japan (LJL) - Seed 1
• Latin America (LLA) - Seed 1
• Oceania (LCO) - Seed 1
• Türkiye (TCL) - Seed 1

The remaining twelve teams are expected to advance directly to the group stage:

• China (LPL) - Seeds 1, 2, and 3
• Korea (LCK) - Seeds 1, 2, and 3
• Europe (LEC) - Seeds 1 and 2
• North America (LCS) - Seeds 1 and 2
• Southeast Asia (PCS) - Seed 1
• Vietnam (VCS) - Seed 1
