Wardogs Season 3 arrives on November 12 with a new urban map, a new Limited Mode and a full wipe. Developer Bulkhead has also permanently banned 185,000 accounts ahead of the season. The 100-player tactical shooter is currently in Steam Early Access.
As Eurogamer reports, Bulkhead hopes the changes will recapture the shared discovery and sense of achievement that defined the game at launch. The studio is also making seasons longer and slowing down progression.
What is in Wardogs Season 3?
The headline addition is a new urban map built around close-quarters fighting. For a more level playing field, there is Limited Mode, which restricts weapons, ammunition, armour and vehicles to keep the feel of early-to-mid-game combat. The full list is still being decided, but it currently includes:
- FMJ-only ammunition
- A Tier 2 armour cap
- A reduced selection of attack vehicles
Bulkhead says the mode is designed to reduce the advantage of more powerful equipment. Full Season 3 patch notes will be published before launch.

Why are seasons getting longer?
From now on, each season will last three months. Bulkhead says that gives players more time to reach their goals before each wipe and gives the team more time to prepare future updates. Progression is also being brought closer to the pace of Season 1, after the studio admitted Season 2 accelerated the journey "too aggressively".
Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer said Season 3 is about giving players a new battlefield to learn together and a progression journey worth spending time on, adding that longer seasons give everyone more room to reach their goals.

How is Wardogs tightening its anti-cheat?
Bulkhead says it analysed 187 million hours of gameplay with the help of machine learning and is activating further layers of its anti-cheat. With close to four million unique players since launch, the studio says it had enough data to bring that work forward from next year.
Exploiters, real-money traders and gold-farming networks have been permanently banned and have lost their server-hosting privileges. A player trust score is planned for 2027. "Protecting the people who play Wardogs fairly is essential to everything we're building," Brammer said.

What is Wardogs?
Wardogs is a 100-player tactical shooter developed by Bulkhead and published by Team17. In its Early Access review, Eurogamer said its mix of competitive shooters' best bits with something entirely its own made it "a brilliantly refreshing take on the genre". It is currently available on Steam for Windows.
What is next on the road to Wardogs 1.0?
Bigger changes to the metagame, including a new progression system, are due in 2027 as Bulkhead works towards version 1.0. Wardogs launched in Steam Early Access on September 10 and has been one of the breakout hits of the year.
Seasonal wipes and anti-cheat crackdowns are becoming a bigger part of competitive shooters. We looked at a similar seasonal overhaul in our Warzone Season 1 roadmap story.
