How do you pick a Clash of Clans TH6 base layout?
Start with what you want from the village. Our older articles split bases by three goals:
- War: loot does not matter. The only goal is to lose as little of the base as possible and give up few stars, so the Town Hall sits in the center.
- Farming: in regular attacks the opponent is after your loot. Storages move to the center and the Town Hall can sit outside.
- Standard or hybrid: tries to protect both trophies and loot. Our older article notes that the attacker often takes 1 star and some trophies, but you keep most of your loot.
A reminder on trophies: if the attacker stays under 50% destruction and fails to take down the Town Hall, they get no star and you win trophies on defense.
Why do you need a new base at every level? As our older articles point out, the number of buildings and walls you have changes at every Town Hall level. A base made for the level below either leaves no room for your new buildings or wastes them, so when you reach Town Hall 6 it is best to rearrange the village around the buildings of this level.
How is the TH6 war base set up?
The Town Hall is in the center with the storages placed diagonally around it. Mortars ring the Town Hall and the Air Defense is right next to it. The base is built as a hexagon, with a Wizard Tower and Cannon on corners and Archer Towers on the others. The Air Sweeper faces the side dragons are likely to come from, and traps sit around the collectors.
How does the TH6 farming base work?
The storages are in the middle of the base, with two Mortars and the Air Defense around them for ground and air attacks. The Town Hall does not need protecting here, so it sits outside. Collectors are kept as far inside as possible with Cannons, Archer Towers and Wizard Towers around them. The rest is up to you.
How is the TH6 standard base set up?
The Town Hall is dead center with defenses on all four sides, protecting both the Town Hall and the storages around it. Archer Towers and Cannons in the corners meet attacks from outside. The Air Sweeper's spot is up to you: check which side air attacks come from and move it accordingly.
How do you build the base from the picture?
Our earlier Town Hall 6 articles did not include in-game copy links, so you need to rebuild the base by hand from the picture:
- Pick the base that matches your goal.
- Move the Town Hall and storages to their spots in the picture first.
- Place the defenses around them in the same order as the picture.
- Draw the wall rings as shown and leave traps for last.
- If you have more buildings than the picture shows, put the extras on the outer ring.
