LoL RURF Mode: When Is It Coming?

The mode players consider a nearly limitless source of fun, Random Ultra Rapid Fire, better known as RURF, is on its way. According to some leaks, it's already live on the PBE server. So what exactly is this beloved mode, what is RURF, let's take a look at the details together and share our thoughts on when it might arrive.

What Is LoL's RURF Mode?

When starting a URF game, players will see the Super Awesome Buff icon above their champion's portrait. This buff is exclusive to a handful of game modes in LoL and gives every caster a 100 percent reduction to mana and energy costs, on top of halving the health costs tied to abilities.

Players on ranged champions get double their bonus attack speed, while melee champions get bonus attack speed equal to 1.5 times their normal attack speed. URF also comes with a handful of other buffs, like an extra 300 ability, item, and summoner spell haste, along with 25 percent bonus tenacity. You'll also get far more mobility than you'd expect thanks to both champion recall and a bonus 60 percent movement speed.

Unlike URF mode, in RURF you won't get to pick your champion. You'll play with a champion assigned to you.

When Is LoL RURF Coming in May 2022?

LoL's RURF mode is planned to launch with patch 12.9. Barring any setbacks, we should be able to see RURF mode in the game a few days after the patch goes live on May 11. Since there are at least two weeks until patch 12.9 releases, we'll keep you posted as soon as there's fresh information.
