But ever since his release, instead of fulfilling the star forger power fantasy, Aurelion Sol has been a strange and finicky champion who clumsily maneuvers around his enemies to deal damage. Some players have enjoyed this unique playstyle, but most of the playerbase wishes he were a bit more interesting to play and watch. Riot Games made some balance changes to try to increase his play rate, but to no avail. After these balance changes, the champion's play rate dropped even further.
So not only is one of the most thematically interesting champions stuck with an incredibly low play rate, he's also currently a nightmare that needs to be balanced. Together, these things are probably what's motivating Riot to give him a rework, and who are we to complain? The space dragon deserves a rework! Please, Riot, can you make Aurelion Sol playable?
When Will the LoL Aurelion Sol Rework Arrive in 2022?
Riot Spideraxe said they're currently working on the next champion roadmap and that we can expect it in April. If Aurelion Sol's rework is coming soon, we can expect to hear about it in early April. Roadmaps usually span 3-4 months, so we'll have Aurelion Sol at least sometime in the summer, or we might have to wait until the end of April to hear about it.
