What Are Gekko's Abilities in VALORANT?

Since Gekko is an initiator agent, using his abilities is about how you start a round to seize control of a specific part of the map. Given his versatile kit, he can give your team enough space to enter a bomb site. Whether he's blinding enemies or repositioning with Mosh Pit, he can maximize your chances of playing out a round after taking control when needed.

Here's a full rundown of his abilities in the game:

• E Ability – Dizzy (Free): EQUIP Dizzy. FIRE to launch Dizzy. Dizzy fires plasma at enemies in its line of sight. Enemies hit by the plasma are blinded. When Dizzy's duration expires, it turns into a passive orb. INTERACT with the orb to recall it and gain another Dizzy charge after a short cooldown.
• Q Ability – Wingman (300 Credits): EQUIP Wingman. FIRE to send Wingman off to seek out enemies. Wingman creates a stunning blast toward the first enemy it sees. Hold ALT FIRE while aiming at a Spike site or a planted Spike to have Wingman plant or defuse the Spike. Gekko must be holding the Spike for Wingman to plant it. When Wingman's duration expires, it turns into a passive orb. INTERACT with the orb to recall it and gain another Wingman charge after a short cooldown.
• C Ability – Mosh Pit (250 Credits): EQUIP Mosh. FIRE to throw Mosh like a grenade. Hold ALT FIRE to throw it low. Mosh spreads across a large area where it lands and detonates after a short delay.
• X (Ultimate) Ability – Thrash (7 Ult Points): EQUIP Thrash. FIRE to enter Thrash's mind and roam enemy territory with it. ACTIVATE to have Thrash lunge forward and explode, detaining enemies in a small area. When Thrash's duration expires, it turns into a passive orb. INTERACT with the orb to recall it and gain another Thrash charge after a short cooldown. Thrash can only be recalled once.

How Do You Play Gekko in VALORANT? 2023

First of all, you can't use Gekko as your team's primary initiator. His versatile kit makes him an outstanding secondary initiator instead. As silly as it sounds, Gekko's Wingman ability works exactly like Raze's Boom Bot. As long as it isn't destroyed, it can stun enemies from a distance and give your team an edge. After it gets a kill, you can recall it, wait 10 seconds, and have it plant the Spike anywhere you want within a site. Remember, you can use Wingman in a similar way to defuse the Spike on defense. The possibilities for how you use Wingman are endless. You can trap opponents, hunt them down if you chose to plant, and do much more.

As for Dizzy, you can combine it with Wingman against annoying enemies, or use it the usual way to blind them on its own.

Mosh Pit has a ton of potential. On attack, you can use it to clear corners or hold post-plant setups. Mosh Pit has a large radius and deals a total of 150 damage after a short delay. That means if an enemy player can't get out of its area during a post-plant situation, you won't even need to use your weapon to secure the kill. On defense, you can use it to push a site or to delay enemies.

His ultimate, Thrash, is essentially a portable Killjoy ultimate. If you manage to hit multiple enemies at once, you can detain each of them for a short time. Make sure you have a teammate backing you up in case one of the detained players decides to wait it out to punish you for being greedy!
